About this deal

Also a wonderful love story woven into the main story of the medical notes on Hitler's psychiatric condition. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). and the artistic community of Paris, spanning the periods before, during, and after WWII, provide a rich and engaging backdrop. Historical fiction devotees will flock to this romantic thriller superimposed over real settings and events of WWII… this is a captivating story based on authentic artifacts from the era .

From the first words, the unfolding events of the story capture and carry you away with a fair strong wind, as if you are in an aspiring train rushing to the distant 1939.The character of Katja and those she meets as she tries to deliver a notebook that could change the war is brilliant.

This is a magnificent love story about two young lovers who met in Germany just before Hitler began invading Poland at the beginning of World War II. Thank you, NetGalley and HQ, HQ Digital, for the advanced copy of The Paris Notebook in exchange for my honest review. Tessa Harris's prose effectively conveys the oppressive atmosphere of Nazi-controlled Hamburg and the impending threat of the invasion of France.Several attempts to contact publishers occur, trips from Germany to Paris and finally a daring escape and rescue of British troops through an active battle in Calais ensue with the intent to bring this information regarding Hitler to the attention of the Commanders of the The Allied Coalition and the United States.

The Paris Notebook tells the story of a German Psychiatrist, Dr Vicktor who treated a lance corporal after the soldiers exposure to poisonous gas during WWI.Such is her courage that she will go on to risk her life, and the lives of those that she loves as she strives to make public the notes. When she comes across some of the psychological records of a young man treated after the Great War, and watches in horror as he continues gaining political power.

This story of espionage provides conjecture on what may have happened to the notes and the people who had knowledge about the case. A young girl looking after her mother has just been accepted for a job working as a PA for Doctor Viktor. Her debut, The Anatomist’s Apprentice, won the Romantic Times First Best Mystery Award 2012 in the US. If this is a genre that appeals to you then rest assured that there is something extra special in this wartime tale - history, romance and a thrilling mystery. If you are a fan of stories set during WWII that have some strong characters and very memorable scenes then this is one for you. When it’s confirmed who the patient is and the plans for the transcribed notes, Katja realizes that she’s in too deep to simply walk away. Doctor ViKtor wants his medical notes and thoughts about the dictator published, he and Katja travel to Paris. Katja gets a job with Dr Victor ( a psychiatrist) who divulges to her his secret work on the mental health records of Adolf Hitler. There are times when I think I might be growing tired of wartime stories – and then a book like this one comes along, beautifully written and with such stunning originality, and I wonder what on earth why on earth I ever thought that. Creating an extensive backlog of work, she’s managed to produce many books that have delighted both the critics and the public alike, as her popularity grows day-by-day, nationally as well as internationally.
