Our magical puppet and live-action production is performed annually in the heart of Mousehole alongside the village’s famous Christmas light display. A beautifully illustrated book, which mingles history and legend to tell a stirring story of heroism and storms at sea and a very special cat. There are many references in the story as humans being pets to cats as Mowzer explains that her children have human pets too but they are not as well behaved as her pet Tom. The book is told from the perspective of Mowzer and I enjoyed how humans are seen as ‘pets’ in his and the other cat’s eyes.

Using sections of the book we planned and taught lessons on punctuation, grammar and short pieces of writing. When the fishermen of Mousehole cannot take their boats to sea due to a raging storm, Old Tom and his faithful cat, Mowzer, risk their lives to save the people from starvation. It is a little bit of a struggle to get to along single track roads but it is well worth the drive as it’s a gem! I loved seeing some of the positive windows around here with displays of rainbows, cats, mice and positive messages.Set in the Cornish village of Mousehole, this book tells the story of Mowzer the cat and her human, old Tom. As well as the sandy Mousehole Harbour Beach there is another beach you may want to check out on the Newlyn side of town. My second, The Ghosts, written two years later, was a best-seller and was filmed as The Amazing Mr Blunden in 1972.

If all else fails there is some roadside parking outside the Old Coastguard Inn that is completely free on the roadside and you can walk into the village. From raising kids and the homes they now live in as adults, to how human's are cat's pets and should be taught to behave a certain way. We will give away as many tickets as we are able to (we're aiming for at least one family per show) and will inform you if you have won tickets a minimum of three days before the event.
