If the tale isn’t as tightly wound as Every Last Secret (2020), it’s a good deal more ambitious and twisty, and even readers who see some of its surprises coming will be alarmed and shocked by others. i would kill for a good crime fiction story, especially ones that deal with serial killers, so this ticked all the boxes for me. I listened to this on Audible, while reading along on my Kindle, and the narration by Susan Dallian was fantastic.

One in particular towards the end caught me completely off guard and while it proved to be a bit of a fake out, got my blood pumping! We get a little mystery, a little romance, and a whole lot of "hold your breath" type of moments here, which is a recipe for a read that will dominate your thoughts when you aren't actively consuming it.

I was left feeling satisfied and thrilled, with the exception of a few minor aspects in the conclusion that seemed a little too far fetched to me. And the kid who escaped, well he’s loving the limelight but his mom can recognize the telltale signs that he is keeping a secret.Casey befriends Katherine Royce after rescuing her when she almost drowns and soon concludes that all is not well in Katherine and Tom’s marriage. They were both flawed, and made questionable judgements, but I felt for them, and rooted for them both. While the characters develop, the plot lines keep the reader engaged and build with ease, providing some stellar twists at just the right moments.

That these easter eggs are meaningless and even befuddling to new readers might make sense in terms of costs and benefits. The story was sick and troubling and I began to question everybody's motives and level of implications, but as always I was a million years away from imaging what was really behind the murders.

The court ultimately found that the refugees' statements supported the finding of copyright infringement and a permanent injunction on the movie.

Outstanding writing while there are many great authors this one also paints a picture helping me to visualize every scene. I loved that nothing is as it seems with this one and there are twists and turns galore with such a dark, creepy undertone to it. While she never achieves the “America’s sweetheart” status her mother enjoyed, Casey makes a career out of bit parts in movies and on TV and meatier parts onstage. I’m a little concerned about one of the pieces of it, but I think you might enjoy the way it’s done.TBH I read this line like 10 times before moving on and I don't think I need to specify why I did that. Gwen obliges, but her many years of experience and one particular situation with a client have her nerves on edge.
