I wore sneakers the first day, but after discovering how much more comfortable these sandals were on the second day, I stuck with them through the remainder of the festival. While our testers are fond of the comfortable footbed and grippy sole material of the Terra Fi 5, we were a little disappointed in the bulky neoprene material on the straps that led to some rubbing and chafing during our testing. There are plenty more designs to choose from, including platform sandals, special pattern collections (like the commemorative Grand Canyon one), and hiking sneakers.We'd pack the Terras for summer city breaks and weekends away where you're likely to be clocking up the miles when sightseeing and exploring but also popping into bars or heading out for dinner – the fabric strap version and the more expensive leather incarnation of the Terra Fi Lite make a handy quiver-of-one travel sandal if you're packing light. From climbing unexpected hills in Golden Gate Park, to dancing to my favorite bands and dashing to the next act, to standing for what seemed like hours on the packed-like-sardines subway ride home, my feet endured a never-ending cycle of activity when I went to a music festival in San Francisco this summer. Further, the cushioned footbed has a grippy rubber surface that helps keep your foot secure during high-performance outings, even when you get a little wet or dusty. In the traditional Teva fashion, this sandal hugs your foot around the heel and in two places over the top of the foot. The Terra Fi doesn't excel in any particular area but managed to function well in most of our testing metrics. Mandals are definitely an occasion-specific look (day in the park, light hike in the woods, walking the dog), but I'm really enjoying it.

When I was younger, the only reason to get rid of Tevas and get a new pair was that you grew out of them, and these feel the same way.
