About this deal

My critique is that it seems to be all over the place for age ranges - it says it is geared toward tweens and teens, but parts seemed written for much younger children.

Based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles that link thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, the activities help young people aged 10+ understand why they get anxious and how to use simple, practical techniques to manage their anxiety. Based on cognitive behavioural principles, this workbook uses fun and engaging activities to teach children how to manage their anger by changing how they think and act – getting rid of their Anger Gremlins for good! Children's Choice Winner at the School Library Association's Information Book Awards 2014 The Anxiety Gremlin loves one thing - to feed on your anxiety! Using a host of activities and real-life stories, this imaginative workbook will look at what body image means, how it develops, the impact it can have and how all this applies to your own body image. The gremlin character is accessible for youth, without being too cute and babyish for this age group.

We usually don’t feel anxious all the time, but when we do we can sometimes struggle to understand why we might be feeling that way. Lots of people feel anxious and it has an impact on our lives, our routines and our family and friends. The extensive use of visuals and repetition of topics and concepts makes this series a good fit for youth on the spectrum. Watch out for the Stress Gremlin – he loves to feed on your stress, and as he gets bigger and bolder, you get more and more stressed! The more anxiety you feed him, the bigger and bigger he gets and the more and more anxious you feel!

This workbook is designed to teach practical strategies, based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy principles (CBT), for taming and starving one’s anxiety. An ideal anxiety management resource for mental health practitioners, social workers, education staff and youth workers. Full of fun and creative activities, Starving the Depression Gremlin can help support and inform wider therapeutic work with young people with depression, and it can be used independently or with a parent or practitioner. The Autism Lens helps teachers to connect to students with autism and support them along their own unique trajectory. Personally I feel Anxiety UK offers a fantastic service which fills that much needed gap between being referred to NHS and your actual appointment time which nowadays due to Covid can be up to a year in waiting time.Messages with such content will not receive a response and your use of this service will be terminated if you use content that violates our zero tolerance policy. I worked through this with my daughter who struggles with anxiety, and there were some helpful tips in here. I'm about a third the way through a 16-week program and the benefits and rewards are already coming through.

Exam fears and worries are his favourite foods, and the more of these you feed him, the bigger he gets and the more stressed you become. Based on cognitive behavioural principles, this workbook uses fun and imaginative activities to teach children how to manage their anxiety by changing how they think and act – getting rid of their Anxiety Gremlins for good! Kate Collins-Donnelly takes a unique approach to tackling anxiety in children and teens by pointing the finger at the inner Anxiety Gremlin. The therapist appointments were a nightmare and were incorrectly set up via Anxiety UK, he never got the perks or discounts for the mindfulness app and everyone I spoke to was either completely clueless and when I spoke to the manager he was so rude that I worried for the vulnerable people using the service! For this I am forever grateful and will without a doubt use their services if needed again in the future.

I don't really like the cover-this book is aimed towards teenagers and the cover looks quite childish-but I really liked the stories of other people's anxiety that were dotted around the book and how the author took the time to explain everything in a clear way. A Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Workbook on Anxiety Management for Young People by Kate Collins-Donnelly. Bursting with stories, puzzles, quizzes, and colouring, drawing and writing games, this is a unique tool for parents or practitioners to use with children aged 5 to 9 years. I'm convinced that this book will offer great help to young sufferers from anxiety, especially when supported in using it. This is one of the most useful and helpful books especially for children, that I've come across and would be super beneficial for support workers of children too.
