The innovative, mind-blowing look of the film is not as evident in this behind the scenes art book, which is all too similar to a hundred books like it. If you don’t already own a copy, I’ve highly recommended Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: The Art of the Movie: Book for Your Shelf or Coffee Table before and I’ll gladly do it again.

But the images still reflect that powerful, colorful, and dynamic feel in their formation of a brand new superhero universe. It was a great book, filled with a lot of beautiful artworks but I was disappointed after reading into the spiderverse art book recently, because I felt it was much better.

No doubt this is a recurring problem that has plagued multiple animation studios, and no matter how much you love an artist’s work, it is not as the expense of their health.
