About this deal

and 45mm lengths, another option is always welcome, but where the new Sigma will really earn new friends is in the Sony camp where native e-mount primes are in limited supply.

I rarely shoot in any mode other than aperture priority and almost always at the widest possible aperture. very nice lens, I am not sure about the focal length its a bit close to 50mm and I have a sharp 60mm albeit not at F1:4. The aesthetic of out-of-focus specular highlights at wide apertures is pleasing too, with nicely rendered circular highlights in the centre of the frame. However, the idea of having autofocus has a lot of appeal, so I can see trying the 56mm Sigma, maybe rent it out first to see how it goes. is a good lens, I wouldn’t rave about it as much as the rest of the internet but it is good enough for me at the moment.I also care about the excellent construction, lens hood availability, internal autofocus, FOV and compression, low light and strong optics, I don't look too deep into bokeh quality, or "micro contrast" etc, maybe I'm just spoiled though. The 21mm has distortion, vignetting, punchy colours, heeps of contrast and very 3d like, engaging photos. Owners of older Sony and Panasonic bodies may also lament the lack of optical stabilisation and could end up preferring the Sony e 50mm f1.

The nature of its size means that it doesn’t dwarf small mirrorless cameras and those who are after a fast prime that’s neither too heavy or too cumbersome will enjoy the handling and overall experience of using it. After an announcement last summer and a confirmation last fall, we finally got a chance to see all three of Sigma's new 'Contemporary' prime lenses with EF-M mounts in person at WPPI in Las Vegas. Or ramp up the contrast and colour, improve the AF and just turn it into an all-rounder landscape/action/portrait lens. At least that was my perspective when I had it on 2 out of my 3 main E mount primes, it wasn't until I also had it on my most used (35mm) that I started bothering with it on the other 2. All DC DN lenses are available for Sony E-mount, L-Mount and FUJIFILM X systems, while our 16mm, 30mm and 56mm F1.is kind of large for what it is, you should figure out what your focal length preferences are before tossing too much money around, tho these Sigmas are pretty inexpensive for what they are so it's not an altogether terrible way of doing so if you can swing it. I'd take the 56mm for either format it's made for and I'd most often pair it with something much wider, but that's enough anti ~50mm-equivalents (what the 30mm represents) sacrilege from me! Even on a FF sensor, one may prefer to use a smaller lens sometimes and L-mount cameras auto-crop when an APS-C lens is mounted. and it's kind of an ideal sweet spot for her compared to the shorter/longer native options (several of which I shoot myself, namely the 42.
