I suppose Stewart had backed himself into a creative cul-de-sac with this, the fourth album in a similar style and to be fair "Atlantic Crossing", made for an acceptable change of style and direction, but I'd sooner listen to this hit and miss set than any other full album he's made since. However, they still must feature three or more band members each, to still manage to sound like a band effort and retain a certain cohesion for our reconstruction. While clearly no masterpiece, hardly worthy of his previous efforts, it's not the embarrassment that most of his subsequent recordings would turn out to be. Ahead of the World Cup in Qatar Rod spoke out against Qatar’s human rights record in an interview with The Sunday Times, agreeing it “would have been good” to play his song The Killing of Georgie, about the murder of a gay man in the 1970s, at the opening ceremony as a protest.

However, instead of keeping those tunes for use in their next studio album, Rod and Ronnie show off the level of disinterest they had in the band, and put them alongside other non-Faces tracks, recorded during the same sessions, and release two solo albums, "Smiler" and "I've Got My Own Album to Do", respectively.

Ex band member Stevie Salas who said ‘Where would I be in this world today if Rod Stewart didn’t take a chance giving a job to a kid barely in his early 20s who had ZERO experience. Several songs were recorded during the aforementioned sessions, with all members of the group, except Tetsu, participating. Written by all band members, it was still credited to "Rod Stewart and Faces" on the single's sleeve, which angered the band. It has it's fair share of highlights Sweet Little Rock and Roller is a brilliant and fun rocker , Farewell is a good fair paced song, Let Me Be Your Car is a nice quick tempo song, Hard Road is good, rest of the album pretty unimpressive.
