About this deal

I like how well-rounded this model is and that it performed well for the wide range of training tasks I’ve thrown at it. The Nano X3 fit a lot more truly than the Nano X2 and I didn’t have issues regarding length in this model. When it comes to a locked-in fit, I felt the Metcons shined in this regard, as I experienced some slight heel slippage in the Reeboks. Since this shoe is designed and rooted in versatility, I wanted to see where its performance excels in different areas and assess where it starts to fall short.

I have the nano X and found them like little ovens on my feet (they’d get SO hot) and quite heavy and clunky for any running based activity (even over 200m or so). I would not expect these to feel perfect the first time you wear them and I’d give them a week or two to feel better for this training style. The ROPEPRO feature that often had durability issues in the Reebok Nano X1 and Nano X2 has also been reworked. Either way, I think the chassis system is a good chance and if you like shoe tech, then I think you’ll also appreciate this feature. The all-surface rubber gives you solid traction and grip even on the side for rope climbs and toe grip for wall handstands. More colorways dropped for members on February 3, and the shoes launched globally for everyone on February 10. I have yet to have issues with my shoe’s durability when it comes to rope climbs which is a good sign with the volume that I program climbs.

When tackling distances over 800 meters this model feels okay, but I’d suggest capping your mileage to about 2 miles tops in this shoe as it does run a little more stable. I preface this testing section by saying neither the Metcon 8s or Nano X3s should be viewed as replacements for your typical running shoes. While those wanting more cardio out of their training shoes may want to look elsewhere — Nike still has you covered with everything from max-cushioned runners to race-ready silhouettes— this is still one of my favorite profiles to pop on for hard-nosed training sessions. The Reebok Nano X3 delivers a versatile performance that should accommodate a wide range of needs for different athletes and lifters. If you’re often more specialized in your circuits or need a shoe that’s capable of performing multiple disciplines across its lifespan, definitely consider the Nano X3s as your next pair of fitness-oriented footwear.

To discuss the performance of the Reebok Nano X3, I tried to take these shoes through a wide range of workouts. Thus far, I’ve enjoyed this change right out of the gate and I haven’t noticed any glaring durability issues with the Nano X3’s upper yet. The Lift and Run Chassis System is perfect for these multi-faceted needs, and I appreciate how seamless it is to transition from lifting scenarios to more agility or cardio-focused exercise.

The Reebok Nano X3s are designed with new midsole technology to better support the demands of CrossFit, including running, jumping, lifting, climbing, and more. Outside of training performance, I also noted other key qualities like durability, comfort and (of course) style. This isn’t to say the Lift and Run Chassis System doesn’t work — you can still achieve that rigid base in a number of lifts, including deadlifts— but for my taste and lifting style, I prefer that more grounded approach displayed in the Nike offering. Compared to the Reebok Nano X2, the Reebok Nano X3 has been a more robust performing shoe across the board.
