About this deal

I try to resist that urge wherever possible, and in those cases where hard-science is unavailable I try to present interesting and alternative perspectives on these characters based on the theoretical rather than the outright fantastic.

A lot were just meh and a drag to read but needless to say, I applaud all the effort given for this project. If you enjoy my work, follow me on Instagram to see weekly posts of new creatures, concepts, and anatomy art.

Looks like other characters coming to PokéNatomy Volume II include Steelix, Tyrano, Donphan, Espeon, Bellossom, and Togepi. My 8 year old really enjoyed looking at it as well, and the whole family has had many interesting discussions, thanks to this book. For those Pokémon fans who wonder just how Pikachu conducts electricity or Bulbasaur sprouts, artist Christopher Stoll has (unofficial) answers for you.

It really needed another edit, and its information often contradicted established Pokemon lore, real-world biology, and its own newly-created "facts". We and our trusted partners use technology such as cookies on our site to personalize content and ads, provide social media features, and analyze our traffic. Stoll will be launching a Kickstarter for a book of his project in late October complete with the full set of his Pokémon anatomy art pieces. So for the sake of the project, I’ve found myself thumbing through books on botany, herpetology, metaphysics, and even embryology.Other interesting elements are how most dragon-like pokémon find buoyancy in the air (hydrogen reserves, which reminds me of The Flight of Dragons), the sentience of bacterial colonies, symbiotic relationships, pokémon becoming merged with armor technology, and even computer viruses become self aware. I was 8-years-old when the original Pokémon Game Boy games came out in the United States, but only recently rediscovered my love for the franchise when Pokémon Go came out. Exclusive Insights: This unofficial guide is a treasure trove of exclusive insights, and it’s not something you’ll find in your typical Pokedex.

You’ll develop a deeper appreciation for these creatures as you uncover their hidden anatomical secrets. I also do fun giveaways twice a month on my Instagram, where you can get free posters, books, and signed illustrations just for following my work and liking a photo! If you’re a curious Pokemon enthusiast, the book you’ve been waiting for is here –“Pokenatomy: The Unofficial Pokemon Anatomy Book. Pokénatomy: An Unofficial Guide by Christopher Stoll is a fun read full of great drawings of Pokémon anatomy. This Kickstarter-Exclusive 8”x10” book is over 300 pages long and contains all of the original 150 Pokémon, with full page anatomical illustrations for each Pokémon as well as detailed descriptions of their biology, behavior, and abilities. It’s through this book that I established my love for integrating fantasy and the biological sciences. Not to take anything away from an interesting encyclopedia (or is it a Poképedia), but there are clashing details in some entries.
