We have a very limited number of free tickets for each session available for Members of Royal Museums Greenwich. We are on a mission to inspire people of all ages to explore and understand the world around them, to discover and enjoy science and to see the relevance it has in their everyday lives. He has written several successful books on the subject, including Night Sky Watcher which was shortlisted for the Royal Society Young People's Book Prize in 2015. At peak times (particularly weekends and school holidays) tickets sell out very quickly and entry to the planetarium cannot be guaranteed for every visitor. Room lighting is left at a higher level, bright enough that you can walk around safely, and leave and re-enter the show if you wish. In our live presenter-led shows, piloted by our expert team of astronomers and science bods, we’ll take you on fantastic journeys through the solar system, into the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond… it’s a truly out of this world experience. With stunning artwork from Chris Wormell and informative text by Professor Raman Prinja, Planetarium is the perfect gift for anyone with an interest in this fascinating field.

These are displayed 360° across the 15-metre hemispherical dome of the Planetarium giving a truly immersive experience. Written by an astrophysicist from University College London and illustrated by the phenomenally talented Chris Wormell, Planetarium explores the solar system, the sun, the night sky as seen from Earth, the stars, galaxies, and the universe as we know it. You can also pick up refreshments from stalls just outside the main entrance to the Observatory, or head towards the Parkside Café just down the hill at the National Maritime Museum. Please consider adding Giftaid during the ticketing process, it costs no extra and the charity can claim the VAT back to support our education, outreach and curatorial mission.

The Royal Observatory at Greenwich is the home of time and space, the Prime Meridian and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Biography: Raman Prinja (Author) RAMAN PRINJA is Professor of Astrophysics at University College London, where hespecialises in massive stars, star formation and the evolution of galaxies.The Universe is a vast and intriguing place, and this show explores our own little corner of it: the Solar System. In addition to his children's books, Chris undertakes other illustration work including advertising campaigns, packaging and, issued in January 2005, a set of stamps featuring farmyard animals for the Royal Mail. Join Dr Alfredo Carpineti at this David Elder Lecture to explore how we study the cosmos beyond our senses. The presenter will describe everything before it happens, giving plenty of time for you to prepare for any changes in light levels, imagery or sounds.

Connect with the cosmos and choose an Add-On ticket to visit The Planetarium and enjoy one of our live presenter-led star shows, or a fulldome film, when you book your visit to Glasgow Science Centre. Select the site or exhibition you want to visit, pick your preferred date and entry time using our booking calendar and complete your booking. The National Space Centre is home to the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium, the UK's largest fulldome planetarium.
