About this deal

Remember to ensure you are registered for the test by 29 September, even if you feel exceptional circumstances may mean there is a risk you will not be able take it.

Instructions for Oxford take priority - if you're applying to an Oxford course and also to an Imperial or Warwick course, then you do the MAT questions for your Oxford course. Approved test centres can register candidates for Oxford admission tests anytime between 1 September and 29 September. If you feel you did badly due to extenuating circumstances, for example: if you were ill on the day of the test, your test centre can submit a special considerations form for you; or if there was some form of disruption at the test centre you can submit the form yourself. The best way to ensure that you don't look at your hands is to cover them up - you can make a simple box out of cardboard or wood to cover both the keys and your hands.

The Oxford Mathematical Institute would like to apologise for this distress, and assure everyone that our priority is to ensure that no one is disadvantaged during the admissions process.

The additional test will be made available for printing just before the start of the test on 14 November.

Transform the way your students learn maths with Mathletics, the world’s leading online maths program that builds confidence through personalised learning, exciting games and mastery challenges. I failed my maths GCSEs and I can't even do simple maths, but (my son) has taught me times tables, algebra, and how to simplify and expand. If you can’t find them listed, then get in contact with your exams officer as soon as possible and direct them to our information on becoming an Oxford/TCS test centre. There are limited places available on the Year Abroad programme, which means that competition for selection is strong and a placement cannot be guaranteed. This information can be found for past paper questions in the Solutions documents below, but from 2023 it will now also be included in the question. In less than an hour per week, children aged 5–16 quickly become motivated, confident and successful learners with improved test results. Candidates are not required to take the additional test if they are happy with how the MAT went for them on 19 October. Study examples of groups and homomorphisms, along with applications of group theory and rings, a class of algebraic object equipped with both addition and multiplication.

On the 3 November, The Mathematical Institute will send out invitations for the additional test to all candidates who have been identified as having experienced disruption, as well as to test centres where that disruption took place. Parents and homeschoolers can feel confident knowing Mathletics reinforces children’s schoolwork and classroom learning, focusing on the skills and concepts they need for success.Where possible, we would like the additional test to be hosted by schools or colleges; where necessary, remote invigilation will be arranged at home. Further your knowledge of mathematical techniques including the Wiener-Hopf method, Plemelj formulae, Hilbert problem, Orthogonal polynomials, the GrammSchmidt process, and the Rodrigues formula. Normally only students who are on track for at least a 2:1 will be eligible for placements in France and Germany. All applicants taking this test will be able to practise by taking the 2022 past paper (or equivalent) as a hybrid test in advance of your test day. Imperial Mathematics recognises this has been a distressing experience for candidates and those who support them.
