Stranger Things: Lucas on the Line — Suyi Davies Okungbowa
Like the other companion books , Lucas on the Line is tied to the timeline of events shown during Season 4. ik this quote was said abt eddie but after reading this i realized it acc applies more to lucas than to anyone else.It was so well written and gives you more of an understanding of why they broke up that we didn’t get to see in the show.

He treats the characters with respect and uses a combination of new and familiar voices to provide depth and color. I loved getting to see his thoughts and feelings during certain scenes and I wish some of this book was included in the show itself because I think it would have added onto Lucas character. I really liked seeing his relationship with Jay develop and how the way he views himself and what “being himself” means changes throughout the novel. I always love the settings in 'Stranger Things' books as it expands the world so much more from the show and makes Hawkins, Indiana really come to life. Written by Suyi Davies, the novel alternates between Lucas Sinclair's perspective following the events of Season 3.One of the greatest slices of this universe is the companion novels that focus on individual characters.

After connecting with one of the few other Black students at school, Lucas starts to learn more about himself apart from his friend group. From Suyi Davies, contributor to the New York Times bestselling Black Boy Joy, comes an exploration of love and identity within the beloved Stranger Things universe through the eyes of Lucas Sinclair. Mike says she’s buried herself in college applications and is making plans for her impending long-distance relationship with Jonathan. His difficulty in explaining or accepting the evolution into his new life leaves him angry or confused.I'm glad we got to see more of his story here beginning with the the start of the school year right up through helping to save Max with Running Up That Hill at the cemetery. The characters did not have the same chemistry or connection that they had in the show and that was the only downside here.
