The midrange is clean and informative, backed with just enough of that mid-bass warmth to make it sound rich and palpable. While using mid-fi equipment I wouldn’t be surprised if the difference would shrink to unrecognizable. Preliminary impressions are good but there is a lot more to talk about, so let’s break it down step by step.

This is a review and detailed measurements of the Loxjie D30 DAC with Bluetooth and headphone amplifier. Harder to drive headphones will lose quite a lot of impact and just forget about some nicer dynamics as huge orchestral works will sound compressed and not that impressive. In a bigger apartment, I was not losing BT signal and D30 would stay exactly in the middle, in the living room. The D30 doesn't sound lifeless, it is pretty involving, musical and enjoyable, suitable for all kinds of music.While D30 is winning a lot of ground when it comes to stage size and air around the notes, it is losing a bit of focus and contour of the notes. Just wanted to circle back on this thread, I eventually received my Loxjie D30 and have it connected to my Thinkpad laptop on USB and the RCA/FIXED Out to Edifier r1280dbs and the sound is very good.

They are still among the nicest Delta-Sigma chipsets when it comes to things like scale, depth, and soundstage. The Loxjie D40 with its 700mW of power on tap for 32Ω loads is already packing enough punch for most gears especially since most headphone manufacturers are already turning up the sensitivity of their recent releases to be friendlier to the everyday audiophiles. I’ve got a couple of Bluetooth receivers that should go too, but I’ll probably just lob them in a drawer somewhere.
Sound-wise, the D40 is an impressive wireless unit with a performance that is very close to the USB connection.
