As page 1 is on screen the background is painted from white to light green and turned into a sky instead of a bush and the blue flowers on top of the page in the book are gone in the video. It's really fun to read aloud and it's easy for kids to remember the lines to read parts along with you. Although he seems indifferent to his father, especially when Ned talks about being mayor, the truth is that he is so terrified of disappointing him that he never speaks in his presence, until he saves Whoville. Finally, all the townspeople come together and make enough noise for the animals to hear; they have proven their existence and the jungle animals are able to know what Horton has known all along. Horton Hears A Who! - Mental Floss 10 Facts About Horton Hears A Who! - Mental Floss

To save Whoville, Horton implores the little people to make as much noise as they can, to prove their existence. On page 17-18 of the video of the book some of the bushes behind Horton were cut, and the background was blue. Gigantic-eared Horton hears them all along -- perhaps his compassionate soul acts as a cosmic hearing aid. Throughout the book, Horton is trying to convince the Jungle of Nool that "a person is a person no matter how small" and that everyone should be treated equally.Unfortunately for him, the rest of the residents of the Jungle of Nool think he's gone mad, talking to people who aren't there, and, led by an officious kangaroo, decide that something must be done to put a stop to Horton's unconventional behavior. When his friends accuse him of imagining things Horton persuades the Whos to make as much noise as possible to prove they do indeed exist. I don't want to spoil it for those that haven't read the book yet, but can I just say how much I LOVE this story!
