About this deal

But because the music is good and the characters are endearing, this is a good read, especially accompanied by the appropriate soundtrack. With witty and raunchy British humor, captivating illustrations, and one-of-a-kind story, GORILLAZ RISE OF THE OGRE is definitely an exciting roller coaster worth riding.

Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault] Agora Hills Спонсор твоих проблем (Sponsor of Your Problems) Now That We Don’t Talk (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault] “Slut! The way Noodle described her isolation during the writing of Demon Days was so good and gave her a sort of depth and drive her character really lacks usually. The book blends fact and fiction throughout, interspersing commentary from the band members with actual quotes from their creators, collaborators and critics.

Most importantly though, it's perfectly natural that the fictional band should have chosen to release their own autobiography. We build and maintain all our own systems, but we don’t charge for access, sell user information, or run ads. Gorillaz took the world by storm right at the beginning of the new millenium with their "Clint Eastwood" music video. The band has shot to popularity in the UK following their debut album, Gorillaz, and have been named "World's Most Successful Virtual Band" according to the Guiness Book of Records. It is also the only track that features the bands' ex-guitarist, Paula Cracker, before Noodle joined them, back when the band was still known as "Gorilla".

Gorillaz autobiography 'Rise Of The Ogre' is being released in most territories worldwide over the next two weeks, and it is already generally available in the UK. Their astonishing success is even more surprising when you consider this has all been achieved against a backdrop of demonic possession, underworld dealings, amnesia, exorcisms, prison terms and jaw-dropping stupidity.

The band's first album, 2001's Gorillaz, sold over 6 million copies and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. The front cover of the book, when flipped sideways, is a silhouette of Murdoc Niccals' pet raven 'Cortez'. The description of the creative process is fantastic, especially seeing how the collaboration with different artists added a new flavour to the existing music and allowed for it to evolve. Narrated in the way of a biography-slash-interview, at times way too heavy-handedly to be effective, it works all the same and probably precisely because of it, because it's in tune with the characters themselves. Getting some of the rough pencil storyboard stuff from Hewlett is lovely, and the way he used to illustrate stuff was beautiful in its weird, ugly way.

The art style was the same as the art from the Gorrilaz music videos and the visuals as well as language work very good together. For true fans, there are almost guaranteed to be tears of laughter at some points - Cass has obviously been following the fan community to some degree, so we're treated to stories of how 2D gained (and lost) the 'Tusspot' name, details of Paula's drug addiction, and are spared nothing of Murdoc's sordid upbringing. Unfortunately, my phone screen is much too small to be able to read the damn thing without zooming in and out an infinite number of times. This book reveals the whole story and meaning of the band and songs including their origins and "lives" from the beginning to the aftermath of Demon Days. All in all - Gorillaz' 'Rise Of The Ogre' is a beautifully presented and lavishly illustrated book that manages to be an art book and tell an interesting and entertaining story at the same time.A fitting tribute to the first two phases of the career of the world's most successful virtual band, and highly recommended. As a huge Gorillaz head, I loved this book, but couldn't recommend it in the least to someone who isn't into them or even to someone who is looking to get into them.
