This run of OBSF barrels isn’t considered to be particularly desirable among Four Roses fanatics (like the JE-32 run of OBSF is known as) but that doesn’t mean it can’t be good.

I looked up the meaning of OBSV after the fact and definitely got those “delicate fruit and rye” notes that Four Roses mentioned. It's the ephemeral perfection captured once in a memory, never to be repeated in exactly the same way. The basic gist of it is that there are two different mash bills which get described in the 2nd letter slot of the O _S_ puzzle. While the standard bottling is always offered as OBSV at 100 proof, part of the fun of the Four Roses Single Barrel line is trying each recipe and finding what you like. Just a hint of salinity creeps kisses the caramel and butterscotch loaded vanilla ice cream in my hand.Both mash mixes are then divided into 3 batches each (6 in total) and separately fermented in large tanks using unique yeast strains. That makes sense because the two were once a part of the giant Seagram’s empire of distilleries before 2000. Containing a unique blend of six bourbon recipes, it would make a great addition to any whisky collection.
