About this deal

We figured it might be worth introducing one last budget footstool before moving on, and this one certainly fits the bill. The only issue is that if you’re a touch on the shorter side, which is common among artists, the original stool could be a bit too high. The most important thing to know about using a footstool is that the real “proper” way to use it is more directed towards classical guitar music. It is more or less a proper office chair with a saddle designed for playing in lieu of a regular seat. When you’ve finished playing the footstool can be folded away neatly for easy storage and transportation.

There are some things you shouldn’t do with a footstool that might seem very intuitive, such as standing on top of it, to avoid breaking it or worse, falling and hurting yourself. A great quality guitar stool not only makes playing guitar easier — it actually helps you become a better player. Guitarist Wrist Rest The Wristrest is designed to assist players in attaining a good righthand position. Drummers aren’t known for taking care of their equipment either, so as a result, the Gibraltar throne is triple-stitched and built like a brick house. This isn’t to suggest that you should throw your footstool around just to see how much it can take before breaking. For the Rock Gods among us that need a little more height or just like sitting in comfort while playing guitar, there is no better throne for the job. We find a basic trend here – that the more you’re willing to pay for a stand, the better its stability will be. It seems strong so I have confidence in it when playing - really has improved my comfort when seated, so I can concentrate on getting the notes right!

Simply clip the guitar playing-aid to your trouser belt - use it as a guitar rest - and you are ready to go. Finally, we have the most affordable option – the On-Stage FS7850B guitar foot rest, with five fixed height positions and non-slip rubber pad. Other than that, some of the features that can be found on a guitar footstool are the materials it was made of, how sturdy or light it is, and how easy they are to carry around (this is important especially if you play out often). Well I don't get the arm ache doing the D01 lessons but then I'm not fretting when doing those (yet). However, there is an alternate approach where the footrest is used under your right foot, with the guitar resting on your right leg. It’s aesthetic and simple to set up, but it’s pretty limited in terms of functionality and usefulness. On the positive side, it’s really sturdy and durable, although it can be scratched if you’re not careful. Besides the ones reviewed here, you can find these guitar stools with virtually any other major brand on them, like Martin and Gibson. If you are a lefty, then the process would be reversed and you would put the stool on your right foot, but you would still place the guitar in between your legs.

It is very easy to lose yourself in the music or the technique and forget that your whole body should be in tune with what you are doing to experience more satisfying results and avoid unnecessary pain in parts of your body due to an incorrect posture. The two rings come in very handy for switching up your playing position during a long session or gig. Users do seem a little split on this one, however, and many said they had issues with the rubber pad slipping. So, if you’re looking for comfort over long sessions, you’d do well here to pick one that’s the correct height. It’s super lightweight and collapses flat in a second, so taking it to gigs or the studio is as easy as can be. Classical guitar rests allow you to place both feet flat on the ground and this reduces the level of stress on the hip and spine.

This footstool comes with a non-slip rubber surface, metal frame, non-slip rubber end caps, and has six positions for height adjustment. Many guitarists find a significant benefit with the footrest, but some guitarists experience additional back pain. It adjusts from 20” to 28” in height which should give most players plenty of range to find the perfect seating height. I've been a hobbyist musician since I was in high school and people still point out that I'm whistling or singing without realizing it.

It also tales up a lot of space (relatively speaking) and is an awkward shape and size for carrying round. Hercules is a very well-known brand for making great microphone stands, guitar stands, and many other accessories. There are six different height settings, the stool is made of metal, and it’s easily adjusted to your taste. It’s surprisingly easy to hold a pick the wrong way, which can lead to bad technique and playing habits.
