No need to tell more of the plot because if you are an Anne Tyler fan, you will want to read this book. Through finely attuned, blink-and-you’d-miss-them moments, Willa finds the language for her own redemption, courageously forging her own, new family.
But what enables Willa to finally break free is the fact that she has decided to do a certain thing simply because it was something she wanted to do. A peacekeeping jedi, Willa detects and soothes the first flutter of anyone’s irritation or disappointment. Yet, they are so much about life, people that she treats so ternderly, with so much consideration for the unique individuals they are.
