About this deal

However, it wasn’t until 1950 when the designer (and founder), Nathan Clark, created the iconic Desert boot. The Bushacre 2 comes in a variety of colors and finishes, so everybody can find the one that suits them best.

There are many colors available to suit your taste—some of our favorites include Tan, Green, Midnight Blue and Navy Tumble. At first glance, the Clarks Bushacre 2 could easily be mistaken for their Originals Desert Boots, due to the striking similarity in the design of the two Chukka Boots. The outsole of the Bushacre 2 is made of a dense rubber material, as opposed to the crepe sole of the Desert Boots. It’s not just Clarks—I’ve noticed this with several other brands doing the chukka/Desert Boot style. The waxy pull-up leather does provide some nice light and dark contrasts when you start moving around.

I will say that the Bushacre pairs look a little darker than the other two pairs, but they’re all within the same vein of beeswax. Well, by comparing all four pairs side by side, any difference in quality of the upper leather is almost imperceptible. The good news is that it’s a pretty democratic last: while not everyone likes such a wide toebox, it means our wide-footed friends can be more confident with the fit. The Bushacre 3 on the other hand has a slightly more modern and streamlined look than the Bushacre 2, which some people may prefer. The “Originals” Desert Boot has a burgundy ¾ length leather insole that’s glued down to the support board/midsole.Reviewers were generally satisfied with the performance of their Bushacre 2 boots, as they could move as freely as if they were wearing bedroom slippers. While a few reviewers ventured wearing them in the rain, and some even in snow, it is most suitable for dry weather, as the sole can be quite prone to slipping on wet surfaces. Another difference between the Desert Boots and the Bushacre 2 is the leather used in the manufacturing of the upper. The lack of padding and insole also contributes to the overall weight of the shoe, which is light on the feet, and will not cause fatigue or sore feet after use. The Clarks Bushacre 2 has a crepe sole, which is made of a soft, spongy rubber material that is flexible and provides good traction.
