But satirising a fairytale’s heteronormative patriarchal mythology is going to be tricky if that mythology is needed to sell the movie globally, and you wind up making some sort of accommodation: starting out Corbyn and ending Starmer. A new interpretation is mandatory, and there happens also to be another counter-Cinderella, or Cinderella 2. The story of Cinderella follows young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. When her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming stepsisters.There is also Queen Beatrice, elegantly played by Minnie Driver, who at one stage is rocking a glorious white fencing outfit. Rob Lowe stars as a high end fashion designer and Jennifer Grey as his dressing room assistant in this charming take on the Cinderella story. Pop star Camila Cabello will be donning the famous glass slippers as the title character, making her acting debut. After a young fashion designer runs afoul of her corrupt stepmother and stepsisters, she dons a disguise to help save the family business for her father.
