Although I noticed a few inaccuracies in the geographical representation, my daughter doesn't seem to mind and has received compliments on it. We have basic work maps where kids can color and label the individual continents or more close-up continet maps like of North America for kids to label the countries in North America. My 5-year-old has learned a lot from this map, easily associating countries with their respective icons.All countries and continents are clearly labelled together with major World cities, major bodies of water and points of world interest. The dark background and light graphics contrast each other to make a map that stands out and compliments your home decor! While the rug's quality may be thinner than expected and some have experienced minor flaws, such as discoloration or pulls in the pile, it has proven to withstand regular washing and rough play from toddlers.

The pages also have plenty of animals, landmarks, buildings, and people for your child to bring to life with their coloring expertise. This does have its drawbacks, as the Earth is round, but pages are flat, so what we see on a map is slightly distorted.

Boucher is known mainly for his absorbing Air France poster designs; known as “Monsieur Planisphere” (planispheres are flattened representation of planet earth) he created a variety of illustrated World Maps that depicted the global flight routes serviced by the airline. Or, ask your class to name as many countries in a particular continent using this geography world map. This version has lovely land creatures and birds on the areas of the map where they can be found, but doesn’t have the individual countries marked. However, there were some minor issues with constellation shapes, locations, and visibility of certain letters.

We’ve been learning about continents while at home from school, and I’ve been all over the place trying to piece fun printables together. Plus, these blank world map for kids are available with labeling or without making them super useful for working learning mountains, rivers, capitals, country names, continents, etc. This rug is one of a series by Home Dynamix, which uses elements from dearly loved Eric Carle books to illustrate where in the world certain animals can be found. While my child loves playing with it and moving the continents around, I did encounter an issue with a couple of continents not staying in place when spinning the globe.
