In celebration of their 40th anniversary, we are delighted to present Cath Kidston X Care Bears™, a joyfully vibrant and painterly tribute to these beloved and iconic characters, inspired by the original 1980s' paintings. The ‘Bedtime Bear’ print sees the Care Bears™ floating on clouds in a midnight sky, watched over by the moon and stars. Print design was a natural progression as it combines my absolute love for fashion with illustration and painting.

The ‘Wish Big’ print shows the characters presented as classic cherubs; the ‘Believe’ print sees the Care Bears adventuring across an ‘explosion’ of watercolour flowers, hearts, rainbows, cupcakes and moons; ‘Bedtime Bear’ sees them floating on clouds in the midnight sky – each character is engaged in a different activity: one is asleep, another is gathering flowers, while two others are chatting on a tin-can telephone. The vintage inspired products hark back to an era many will remember fondly from their childhood, maybe from their parents or grand parents homes. I also love that these new artworks continue to pass on this sentiment as it’s why Care Bears were originally conceived, to be used on greeting cards.We will shoot all categories in a week, and often the set is buzzing with children, babies, dogs, and our amazing shoot team. I love to find out the original illustrator’s inspirations and passions, so we can really understand what was important for them to portray. This super comfy and versatile dress in our limited-edition Wish Big, Care Bear print, is created using our softest cotton sweatshirt fabric. Care Bears is a brand that highlights a caring community and inclusivity; one that cheers others on.

With a beloved bedtime bear hand-painted print, it's the perfect way to make every cup of tea (or coffee! We also created an impactful psychedelic design with pink and red large graphic clouds and stars, where the Care Bears really shone out thanks to their painterly effect.

The dress has a full pleated skirt that falls from a fitted waistband with a bow you can tie at the front or at the back. The sentiment that Matilda used her love of books and storytelling to take her to another place was really inspiring.
