About this deal

Like most enthusiasts, I’ve been dismayed by the relative absence of buddleia butterflies in the 21st century compared with the gatherings in the 1980s. This gives Nina a chance to get away from everything and immerse herself in another world for an hour at least. Butterfly Summer] gets to the heart of childhood dilemmas whilst unravelling mysteries from the past.

I loved as well the lighter element of it showing the beauty of small town, countryside life, like how sweet and lovely the close-knit community was. Since the protagonist is a 12 year old girl, this book might be aimed for children in their adolescence and early teenage years but that doesn't mean adults can't enjoy it as well. It contains over 600 superb illustrations of the life stages of each species, together with beautiful artworks of butterflies in their natural settings. Black with red fringes to the hindwings, red stripes across the forewings, and white markings towards the wing tips. The charity Butterfly Conservation agrees: its latest statistics for the common blue show that last summer, numbers in England were up a whopping 110% on the year before.

This is a dark brown butterfly with light brown wing markings, some of which contain black spots with a white centre.

I had actually guessed the answer to one of the mysteries before unravelling it, and was indeed spot on about it, which is just a wonderful feeling when you are reading a book and then suddenly you have this amazing realization come to mind, that is a real sign of a truly amazing book! I really adored this book I've never seen anything so touching, magical, mysterious and secretive all in one book. If you haven't read a lot of mysteries/ thrillers this is a perfect book because I'm pretty sure you won't be able to see the plot twists. I'd say it was suitable for children 9/10+, but not any younger due to the complex, darker, scarier elements/scenes it contains. Thankfully we didn’t stay stuck too long around the time of Nina’s first ancestors and instead we begin to read the story of Teddy and finally the story came to life for me and I can say I was truly riveted.Butterflies may appear to be booming in the short-term but some species’ life cycles risk falling out of sync with the plants that their caterpillars depend upon for food.

The bright, violet flowers will attract a range of butterflies, including the common blue and meadow brown.Nina is such an interesting character that, by contrast, the snippets (rather extensive ones) about Teddy’s past were difficult to plow through. They are also important indicators of a healthy ecosystem and provide valuable environmental benefits such as pest control and pollination. Perfect camouflage in its preferred habitat; as its name suggests this insect is found in the dappled shade of woodland clearings. When holly blue caterpillars are abundant, the wasp thrives and kills so many that the population of the butterfly is driven down. Then Becky's mother slips into depression, and Becky is left alone to deal with being in a new place all alone. Her ultimate dream was to become a teacher but that never materialised but her love of books has never vanished as she spends lunchtimes ensconced deep in the National Library. We won’t share, sell or swap your information with other organisations for their own marketing purposes.

I am always on the look out for books about friendship, family and forbidden secrets, but those of you who enjoy the sad, mysterious and slightly haunting will not be disappointed. Pay close attention for the fast and subtle movements of smaller species as these can often disappear against such a busy environment. The more serious themes, such as Becky's mother's depression, are dealt with sensitively but without sugar coating, and Rosa May's changeable nature gave the story a real sense of danger and tension. I love reading mystery storys it makes me happy and excited to read more and find out what happens in mysterious story's i do like adventures as well i think this story will be quit adventurous.
