About this deal

In between the chaos of being a scatterbrained mom of 3 and a real estate investor, I love trying new things with my saw, paint brush, camera… I’m a Jane of all trades but master of none. You can really pack it in there by heating the surface with a hair dryer before and during wax application, then buff.

Along the edges where the grain is perpendicular to the edge, I just sort of globbed it on, then was sure to buff in the direction of the grain. My husband and I tested it on the bathroom vanity last night and it worked great we just had a few questions. If you are trying to put pulls on a drawer with a single hole in the middle, perhaps look for cup pulls or pulls that will mostly hide the hole once it is installed. Here I have used just a little bit on the kitchen towel, and rubbed it into the wood in all directions to get it into the grain really well. I wondered if you’ve had any other experiences with the wax on other projects since your original post… thanks! I went ahead and gave my old gold pulls a spray paint oil rubbed bronze update while I was at it since they were raggedy and unsightly from age anyway. Hi Mary Lee, I think if I wanted to antique them, I would start with a bit lighter wax first on a test door. If, however you are looking for that deep, rich tone and sheen and don't mind using some 'elbow grease to buff it out.

I would say though that it may be worth just trying a shade or two, maybe starting with the clear wax and see how it looks. I loved this post and used Briwax a few months ago on a bathroom vanity but then ended up having to do a more in depth reno and took that vanity out. As for paint color, yes I would probably bring the paint color thoughout to give it a cohesive flow. It did take a little extra work, but the extra wax helped make sure everything was covered and I didn’t have any problems with streaking.I have been going back and forth on whether to paint my kitchen cabinets white or make those honey oak cabinets more rustic looking. Where available, you’ll also receive the name of the driver and a link to live tracking so you can follow your parcel’s progress.

I’ve been hunting around on YouTube for ways to update my kitchen cabinets without ruining my landlords home.and about the paint color: since our place is an open concept plan, we would have to bring the kitchen color throughout. Unfortunately, I think the wax would accentuate the scratches more as it will stay embedded and make them darker. The first time that I worked on my chairs, the temperature was in the high 80s F and it had turned to a liquid. tape off whatever you’re going to be working near (walls, appliances, etc…) and lay down aomething to protect surfaces underneath ( counters, floor, etc…). Easy to apply and buff the Briwax Original wax will give your wood and wooden furniture a long lasting, satin sheen.
