Si os llama la atención y queréis leer un relato es muy posible que os guste, pero si estáis buscando una novela os dejará con ganas de más. Then, she says, word came through that, “Oh, Reese Witherspoon read it” – always a good sign that a novel is tipping into a phenomenon. There is a briskness to her, both in person and on the page, that I associate, perhaps wrongly, with her upbringing in Zimbabwe. The writing is more superficial than some of her previous efforts but the overall experience is still worth a try.

The story begins with Jake found dead in his own apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh, with Ryan being the only man who is also present in the residence and who alerts the medics and the authorities for the apparent murder of his brotherly friend who lies dead with a gaping wound in his head. It's a very quick read, I finished it in under two hours, and a decent way to idle away time, especially if you are in a situation of travelling a short distance or waiting in a long que.
