While Mary Poppins clearly has a lot of magical ability, it seems as if Bert has a touch of magic inside himself too. They run into Bert's chimney sweep friends, and a joyous party breaks out, which eventually ends up at the Banks' home.

After being asked for a word to describe herself, she tells them of her special word, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and Bert contributes by noting that he used to say it to save his nose from being tweaked by his father for being rude for not speaking. Over the course of the film, Mary Poppins (never just Mary) wears quite a few jackets from peacoats to victorian jackets in black or navy – gray works too! He knows Mary quite well, he is very comfortable with her magic, and his sidewalk chalk drawings are able to come to life (though we aren’t entirely sure if Bert made his drawings come to life, or if Mary did it).
