About this deal
I’m not smart enough for all this brilliance but just like with love there is time to unpack and understand. The downside is that there is not much to discover that seems strikingly new, and the spiritual angle the author sometimes takes might put some people off (I also found it a bit much). The low level of angst and satisfying wrap to most conflicts in All About My Romance take down its rewatchability, but in a good way.

This is the first time I'm reading a book from this author and I genuinely really enjoyed it and will definitely read more of Tawse's work! But being a non-binary teenager in a small northern town means their dating pool is limited and they haven’t had their own sweeping romance … yet.A fun and heartwarming YA Rom-com (based on the author’s own teenage diaries) that follows the loveably sassy, Roman Bright a non-binary teen from Tynemouth who dreams of having their own movie worthy romance. Unfortunately, this great performance also means that he destroyed any possibility for Park Hee Soon (forgettable) to form a compelling second lead and badly overshadowed co-star Lee Min Jung (passable). Roman thinks they know who is leaving these messages – their mega-crush and almost-boyfriend from last year, JJ. In this thought-provoking work, hooks eloquently argues that love should be seen as a verb rather than a mere noun.

bell didn’t waste any time — Instantly she was addressing the confusion between love and abuse (childhood abuse—confused with parental love). Elsewhere, Daniel has studied theatre at The Arts Educational Schools, London, and holds a master’s degree in British History from the University of Northumbria. I'm not sure what this added to the novel, and I knocked off half a star for this final chapter alone.Simply learning how we have acquired feelings of worthiness rarely enables us to change things; it is usually only one stage in the process. She recognizes that most people think a loving workplace is a thing of myths, but I do believe it can exist, but that so many people are wrapped up in gossip and not showing their true selves, so it's next to impossible for any love to grow out of that.

This is a tough one: bell hooks is a pioneer of the idea of intersectionality, but the book, published in 2000, already feels dated - which might be a good thing, as the topics discussed have become more mainstream. I was so close to giving it five stars because it's just so fun and unapologeticly queer and camp and honestly as a queer person it was SO good to see the character were just entertaining and lovable and for most characters you can't help but root for them and love then wholeheartedly.
He’s a teacher, a cat dad, and wants to be husband and father; he feels real, and his actions and feelings feel true to his character at every turn. Lastly, despite acknowledging that organised religion is not the answer for everything, this book went weirdly heavily Christian at times, notably when the author wrote some whole section about angels being real and how the story of Jacob and Rachel was about him growing as a person, somehow.
