About this deal

If you hit the pad again, or if the sound ends, the metronome will stop and will restart from Beat 1 when reactivated. This is a great feature for live use, as it enables you to quickly audition the contents of any pad via the headphone output. Your loops are only determined by the memory you have available, so in theory, you could hit start on a song and let it play all the way through. The Alesis Strike MultiPad also comes with ProTools | First – a complete DAW that gives you the essentials of the world-famous ProTools software.

This includes the corresponding Wave Manager PC software, making it extremely easy to import, assign, edit and organise samples. Quick Wave Copy - In the Sound menu, press and hold the F1-Wave button to copy a sound from one wave to the other.

It's a bit noisy in playing, but may be it's my lack of skill - I'm sure it won't be a big deal on set, but may cause an inconveniece with neighbours. I use it for now with two pedals, and it's good for trying things out, learning and training in rhythms. At the rear of the Strike you'll find four outputs — a main stereo pair plus an additional aux stereo output — all on quarter-inch jacks. Slotting in at the top of the MultiPad range (which also features the SamplePad Pro and SamplePad 4), the Strike MultiPad takes its name from the flagship Strike Pro kit.

A number of the other presets introduce you to ways in which the Strike can control effects from pads or play multiple samples from the same pad. The Strike Legacy First the amazing Alesis Strike and Strike Pro electronic drum kits did what no electronic kits had ever done before—they delivered an authentic drumming experience with all the responsiveness and tonal realism of your favourite acoustic drums, but also with the versatility and creative possibilities that only the very best electronic drums can deliver. The looping functionality is great and the ability to overdub samples in real-time from the unit standalone is superb. From tour prep to nightly workhorse it’s made our real time sampling and show so much more dynamic and reliable. Whether performing live on stage, recording in the studio, DJing at a booth, or jamming in your home music room, this sampling pad has got you covered. The looper function is a welcome addition and offers the ability to layer compositions in up to 16 bar sequences, which can themselves be saved directly to the user samples bank. The Phrase Play feature allows for the creation of layered loops and phrases, with 50 preset phrases available in the onboard library.

A pair of 'A-Link' knobs lets you control almost any parameter within the Strike for quick real-time adjustments. First - I'm not a drummer, but I wanted to get a sampler and something to try how drum kit feel, without taking much space.Of course, you can take this concept much farther inside a DAW with a computer, but it is nice to have a standalone feature such as this. I have modified existing kits only to have sounds missing after a few days as well as pads with sounds missing.
