This helps Buddhists to accept that everything changes, which in turn helps them to reduce their suffering by encouraging them not to hold on to things. They were the only residents, and access to the mainland was only possible at low tide across the shore. Cold Earth, Cleeves’ thirtieth book, is a taut and carefully structured outing for the complicated detective Perez. While the plotting is top-notch, it is the conflicted, complex character of Jimmy himself that makes the book so fascinating. Apart from the traditional form, which was sent out to the most important academic centres in the country, we have also prepared an online version of the coursebook, so that everyone can access it at any time.
