About this deal

We measured the peak brightness of the Hisense U7QF in the most accurate HDR picture preset at D65 white and this came in at 560 nits on the industry-standard 10% window. The sound quality was decent from the built-in speakers and certainly good enough if you are not a big movie fan.

The Hisense U7K does employ blooming suppression when displaying HDR content, but this is not as aggressive as the Samsung algorithm, so the limited dynamic range available on the U7K is not impacted any further. However, we didn’t notice any major issues with colour within HDR content we viewed on the Hisense, it just wasn’t quite as rich as some of the better (and more expensive) Quantum Dot TVs on the market.for the 65-inch version) isn’t nearly as bright as the U7H, but its OLED technology offers an incredibly lifelike picture. This is the perfect all-rounder with stunning HDR capabilities, superb accuracy to the standards in Filmmaker Mode, perfect blacks and contrast, four HDMI 2. Switch to standard-def content from the built-in tuner and the Hisense copes much better, largely because the higher frame rate of the signal requires less processing from the TV, and the motion smearing issue is almost gone. The remote control supplied with the Hisense U7QF is a long black plastic affair with raised buttons for easy use.

Controlling these 72 zones is a local dimming algorithm designed to maximise contrast performance and reduce instances of blooming around bright objects. You will drop down a screen size to 55 inches to match the pricing, but here our first choice would be the LG C3. Motion is also decent with only the odd instance of judder with some 24fps material, but this will only jump out at those looking for it, as it is very subtle. You have all of the major apps such as Netflix, Rakuten, Prime Video, Britbox and YouTube and in 4K HDR for those capable.

The fit and finish are good with a classy look that would make you think you had purchased a more expensive luxury item and this is something that Hisense has done for a long time with its TVs. But overall, for normal living room duties, it has a decent enough speaker set up and of course, you can add a more powerful off-boardmulti-channel system at any time. Picture processing on the Hisense U7K is provided by the latest Hi-View Engine with AI Processing that incorporates a quadcore MediaTek MT9618 SoC with the OS provided by VIDAA U7. IMAX enhanced certified TV's have to complete rigorous quality standards set out by IMAX, meaning you get clearer, brighter pictures with reduced noise and grain as well as immersive sound thanks to DTS:X. Black bars did light up more when bright objects were close to them in a scene, but in normal lighting, it wasn’t too distracting, and as a movie watcher I was probably more drawn to issues than your regular viewer. This cookie is a performance cookie used for internal Bazaarvoice web analytics, to be correlated to the same user for interactions within a particular client domain. Despite achieving some success last year, the Chinese manufacturer has opted to ditch OLED for 2020, but claims its cheaper ULED technology is more than a match, particularly when it comes to contrast.
