Again, this may have also been just something I was feeling, because I was very impatient and really wanting to know how this book would end. He spent four years in the past after entering the portal the previous night, traveling to Dallas, Texas, to track Lee Harvey Oswald, plotting to kill the would-be assassin during his attempted murder of General Edwin Walker. King studied various conspiracy theories, ultimately coming to the conclusion that Oswald acted alone.

Maybe writing this review will give me a sense of release, or perhaps I'll gear up the old audible and dive in for a reread. King outlines a clear end goal, and the novel benefits enormously as the journey to that destination unfolds. This novel is about a man who travels back in time through a portal in a diner to prevent the JFK assassination. Frightened by what he has done, Jake quickly goes through the rabbit-hole again, resetting the past and fixing the future. Or simply an easygoing letting ones´ grangrandgrandmother fall in love with one with the option of a menage a trois with ones´ own grandgrandgrandfather in the spirit of at least a bit of incest prevention and coming back less degenerated.
