M. R. Ahmad (1992). Al-sīra al-nabawiyya fī ḍawʾ al-maṣādir al-aṣliyya: dirāsa taḥlīliyya (1sted.). Riyadh: King Saud University. pp.20–34.

I was excited to be one of the volunteers reading advanced copies of this book before it was released, before having the opportunity to discuss themes and the structure of the book with Ustadh Asim Khan. The design of the book, out and in was really nice and made it comfortable on the eye, and chapters were laid very well. Amr ibn al Aas (Raa), was one of the staunchest enemies of the prophet(صلىاللهعليهوسلم), one of the top plotters against Islam who acceptedIslam and became a noble companion. When he was crying on his death bed, his son told him: O my father didn’t Rasool Allah SAW give you the glad tidings about this and that. It was reported that the Prophet PBUHhad said:"Amr Ibn Al Aas has attained faith, (ie he is a Mu’min)". His son was trying to give him the glad tidings that he was a true believer. Amr ibn al Aas turned around and said: I have been through 3 stages in my life: At the first stage the most despised man to me was Muhammed(صلىاللهعليهوسلم), and my desire was to get my hands on him and kill him, he says. "Had I died at thattime, I would have definitely been in Hell fire". He continues, "and then Allah put the love of Islam in my heart and I went to Muhammed(صلىاللهعليهوسلم)and said: I want to become Muslim, extend your hand so that I may pledge myallegiance to you". "So Muhammed(صلىاللهعليهوسلم)extended his hand forward, and I pulled my hand away". Rasool Allah(صلىاللهعليهوسلم)asked Amr about what was the matter?Amr Ibn al Aas said:أريدأناشترطلنفسي ,“I have a condition”. Rasool(صلىاللهعليهوسلم)asked him: “what is your condition?”He said my condition is to get pardon, and clemency. This was because of the regret of what he had done in the past and wanted to be forgiven for all he had done. It analyzes and demonstrated how his teaching influenced his own people, the Arabs, who within a couple of generations not When the Moon Split by Mubarakpuri – If you wan to read seerah without delving in to too many details, then this is the book for you. Seerat un Nabi - Australian Islamic Library

Muhammad the last Prophet: A Model for All Time by Sayyed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi – This is written by one of the most influential Muslims of the 20th century. Nadwi was not just an Islamic scholar but also a historian. He also wrote another more detailed book on the topic that you can read as well. There is a third book on the topic as well written by him specifically for Tableeghi Jama’at focusing on brevity. This third version is very straightforward and can even be given to kids in middle school to read. The author has discussed in detail all the aspects of the Economics of the present age in the light of Islamic teachings.Musa ibn ʿUqba, a student of al-Zuhrī, wrote Kitāb al-Maghāzī, a notebook used to teach his students; now lost. Some of his traditions have been preserved, although their attribution to him is disputed. [6] It was a book that constantly forced you to engage and think about your own life which was really beautiful. At later periods, certain type of stories included in sīra developed into their own separate genres. One genre is concerned with stories of prophetic miracles, called aʿlām al-nubuwa (literally, "proofs of prophethood"—the first word is sometimes substituted for amārāt or dalāʾil). Another genre, called faḍāʾil wa mathālib — tales that show the merits and faults of individual companions, enemies, and other notable contemporaries of Muhammad. [2] Some works of sīra also positioned the story of Muhammad as part of a narrative that includes stories of earlier prophets, Persian Kings, pre-Islamic Arab tribes, and the Rashidun. [2]

a b c Raven, Wim (2006). "Sīra and the Qurʾān". Encyclopaedia of the Qurʾān. Brill Academic Publishers. pp.29–49. The Six Books (Saheeh al-Bukhaari, Muslim, al-Nasaa’i, Abu Dawood, Ibn Maajah and al-Tirmidhi). I advise the seeker of knowledge to read them often, because that will serve two purposes: reviewing the main sources of Islam and reviewing the names of hadeeth narrators. If you often review the names of hadeeth narrators, then whenever you come across the name of one of the narrators of al-Bukhaari in any isnaad, you will know that this is one of the narrators of al-Bukhaari, so you will benefit from this knowledge of hadeeth. Then it is left to the people whether to accept their call and obey them and lead righteous and just lives. Usually when I try to reach Seerah books I get overwhelmed by the chunk of historic information of the Arab world, culture and societal norms prior to the birth of the Prophet. Thinking from the perspective of a young person over the age of 10, I believe this is one of the reason why young people (and adults) aren’t able to engage with mainstream Seerah books. This book is aproachable - it speaks in a language and style that we are familiar with, and we don’t need to have extensive knowledge to be able to grasp the contents! Tafseer al-Qur’aan al-‘Azeem by Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him). This book is good for tafseer based on reports and it is useful and trustworthy. But it does not pay much attention to matters of grammar and style. The sīra literature includes a variety of heterogeneous materials, containing mainly narratives of military expeditions undertaken by Muhammad and his companions. These stories are intended as historical accounts and are used for veneration. The sīra also includes a number of written documents, such as political treaties (e.g., Treaty of Hudaybiyyah or Constitution of Medina), military enlistments, assignments of officials, letters to foreign rulers, and so forth. It also records some of the speeches and sermons made by Muhammad, like his speech at the Farewell Pilgrimage. Some of the sīra accounts include verses of poetry commemorating certain events and battles. [2]
