About this deal

Just make sure to give it sufficient time to test sequential write speeds, since memory cards don’t do well with random write operations. If you are using a PC, CrystalDiskMark is a wonderful piece of software to test read / write speeds on any storage media.

The same holds for laptop users (Windows, Chromebooks or MacBooks) that want an easy and cheap way to increase the internal, local storage capacity without resorting to swapping the solid state drive (and resorting to the dreaded process of disk cloning). Adding 1TB to a laptop with 128GB storage can now be done in seconds! SanDisk cards are compatible with Android smartphones and tablets. Capture and Store Even More Hours of Full HD Video. Get extreme speeds for fast transfer, app performance, and 4K UHD. Ideal for your Android smartphone, action cameras or drones, this high-performance microSD card does 4K UHD video recording, Full HD video and high-resolution photos. The super-fast SanDisk Extreme microSDXC memory card reads up to 160MB/s and writes up to 90MB/s. Plus, it’s A2-rated, so you can get fast application performance for an exceptional smartphone experience. Save Time Transferring Content. Rated A1, the SanDisk Ultra microSD card is optimized for apps, delivering faster app launch and performance that provides a better smartphone experience. SanDisk Memory Zone App for Easy File Management.

Fast for better pictures, app performance and Full HD video.

Reduced Capacity: Another very common issue, where the card will report large capacity to your computer, camera or storage device, when in reality it contains only a very small part of the overall capacity. For example, a 512 GB SD card might show up as 512 GB on your computer, but in reality contain only 16 GB of storage cells. This happens because the microchip (a tiny part of the memory card that is responsible for reporting the total amount of storage available) within the memory card has been reprogrammed to report a different size to the host. Such memory cards are extremely dangerous, because you might never be able to tell that they are fakes until you start filling them up. In this particular case, the first 16 GB of storage might work just fine, but anything past that is going to produce data errors. Counterfeit memory cards with reduced capacities should be avoided the most, because they will most certainly result in data loss.

If you are worried about your memory card reporting larger than its real capacity, the next test using the free H2Testw tool is going to identify such cards. Please note that the test is going to take time – the tool must go through each sector as it writes data, then it has to re-read and verify all that information. So if you have a large capacity memory card that is very slow, it could take hours to complete. Please note that if you are planning to perform this test, you can completely skip the speed tests above, as the tool actively reports read and write speeds of the memory card. For 256GB-1TB: Up to 190MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Up to 130MB/s write speeds. For 128GB: Up to 190MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Up to 90MB/s write speeds. For 64GB: Up to 170MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Up to 80MB/s write speeds. For 32GB: Up to 100MB/s read speeds; up to 60MB/s write speeds. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device interface, usage conditions, and other factors. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes.
