About this deal

As I alluded to above, seeing X isn’t necessarily a requirement, though it might give the viewer a deeper appreciation for this film. And, visually, that’s where the movies differ. Those who have seen X know that it took some inspiration from films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Pearl doesn’t follow suit. This one has more of an etherial look and feel to it. It looks more like a classic Hollywood movie along the lines of The Wizard of Oz or A Star is Born. Yes, an odd comparison to be sure, but I feel it quite accurate. The AVC HD 2.39:1 encode evokes what we’d expect of the aforementioned films. Detail is spot on and if you’ve done or will do a double feature this will be the far “dreamier” looking of the two. Colors are bold and bright making for a very good-looking movie, though it wasn’t what I was expecting. Audio: How’s it sound?

X was often a fascinating viewing experience, and there was the inherent showmanship and/or show womanship of Mia Goth in

There's once again noticeable banding during the Lionsgate masthead, but I noticed Pearl dances her way onto Blu-ray with a splendid 1080p 2.39:1 transfer… and I can’t understand why it’s not out on 4K. Like X, I haven’t been able to find any info if the film was finished in 4K, but with the image details present in this disc and the film’s gorgeous color scheme, it cries out for a 4K disc release. It’s available on digital retailers VUDU and iTunes with Dolby Vision and Atmos adding to that frustration. Lionsgate hits up horror fans with a nice little Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code edition that gives Pearl lovers plenty to be excited about. Follow instructions for Egg 3 above, but after the left sword handle lights up, don't hit "Enter." Instead, press "Left" four times, and a replica of the Aztec medallion will appear on the map. Press "Enter" here to see a time-lapse construction video of a cave (3 min).

which, unlike X, is in very good repair and seemingly the ideal of the American Dream, at least the rural variety. But it's soon revealedWithout giving away too many details about the accruing body count, suffice it to say that Pearl's concerns about her parents are taken care of, all
