The roof of the PAW Patroller is bright red, while the main body has light and dark gray portions. There is a wide stripe of bright blue just under the roof. The wheel wells are teal and there is a tiny strip of yellow separating it from the gray. Located on the roof, there are four large lights on the front side of the vehicle. The side prominently displays the PAW Patrol logo, while a smaller logo appears on the front. Like Ryder's ATV and the pups' vehicles, the PAW Patroller is numbered as well. It has a large "08" on the sides to designate it as a vehicle of the team's motor pool. The vehicle has many features of the Lookout and is designed to operate in locations far from Adventure Bay. The PAW Patroller is driven by Robo-Dog. Ryder is a young, precocious, 10-year-old boy who is the leader of the PAW Patrol. During an emergency, he calls and leads the pups on missions to help the citizens of Adventure Bay. During missions, Ryder is seen in all episodes as being very calm and collected. He is also very mature, patient, and friendly, which earns him the trust and loyalty of all the pups, and this makes him a good leader of the PAW Patrol. He's kind and caring towards his pups. He's always willing to help out someone with nothing in return, even if that someone happens to be a villain like Mayor Humdinger. He's quite reasonable and lenient, even to Mayor Humdinger, despite the latter's schemes. He along with the other members are deeply respected by the town because of their professionalism and saving the day multiple time. Although Ryder is mature, he is still a child, and can be playful and childish, such as when he plays games on his Pup-Pad. He also plays with his pups in his spare time. Always ready for rescue action, Ryder has a secret escape hatch that sends him straight from the front cab into the sea! When you spot trouble, simply open the secret escape hatch, hand Ryder his personal sub, and dive into the imaginary water.

In " Pups Stop the Cheetah", Robo-Dog and Ryder developed a newer version of the PAW Patroller, which was utilized after the original was stolen and later lost by The Cheetah. The vehicle's trailer is now connected more like an actual fifth-wheel connection, though the trailer section is still attached to the cab by corridors. As a result, the new PAW Patroller only has 4 axles instead of the original's 6. The design is also much more futuristic, and the PAW Patrol vehicles now deploy out of the sides via elevating and extending platforms. Skye, however, uses the rear hatch and Ryder uses the top hatch. Ryder is the leader, rescuer, and teacher of the pups. He has heart, a can-do-spirit, and the skills PAW Patrol needs to get the job done! During rescues, you can catch Ryder on his hi-tech ATV that transforms into an hovercraft and a snowmobile." He trained each of the pups to their own specific job (e.g. Marshall as a firefighter dog, Chase as a police dog etc.), and he invented all of the gadgets used by the PAW Patrol team. He even taught each pup how to use their own gadgets. During an emergency, Ryder knows the solutions to each problem and he also knows which pups are needed in each mission. He is tech-savvy and has built the pups' equipment and vehicles.
