About this deal

Your GP or another healthcare professional may ask for a urine sample to help them diagnose or rule out health conditions. Urine contains waste products that are filtered out of the body. If it contains anything unusual, this may indicate an underlying health condition. Common reasons for being asked to provide a urine sample include; Wait 60 Seconds - Expected result: Negative - Nitrite: Screening for possible asymptomatic infections caused by nitrate-reducing bacteria - Suggesting a possible Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Note: These two parameters (Leukocytes (above) and Nitrite) are commonly used to screen for possible UTI's. The test is a rapid screen for possible infections by enteric bacteria, but does not replace urinalysis tests, microscopic examination as diagnostic tools, or subsequent monitoring as other microorganisms that do not reduce nitrate can also cause urinary infections. Studies have shown urinalysis test strips are unreliable at accurately determining UTI's, and should not be the sole test used to rule out UTI infection. If drugs are injected and shared around you are then at risk of catching a dangerous infection such as H.I.V. or hepatitis B and C.

Specific gravity: This is a measure of your pet’s urine concentration, which is a measure of kidney function. Bilirubin: is a brownish yellow protein usually excreted in bile. It is produced when the liver breaks down old red blood cells. Bilirubin is not usually found in normal urine. The presence of Bilirubin in urine is an early indicator of liver disease, obstruction of the bile duct or hepatitis. If urine contains Bilirubin it can make the colour of urine quite dark. Ketones: The results comparison chart for ketones shows a line of 6 colours starting with a negative result (pale pink) and then five positive ranges which get darker the higher the levels detected through to deep burgundy. If you get a positive result, consult your doctor. The amount of time drugs stay in your body depends on many factors such as, the amount of the drug taken, its strength, purity, your body weight and rate of metabolism and whether you are a casual user or a long term user. Abbreviated name on testThe user may never know exactly what it is they are taking. What is bought is unlikely to be pure and you can never be sure what it has been mixed with.

Collect urine in a clean, dry container that allows complete immersion of all the fields on the test strip. Do not add preservatives. Test the specimen as soon as possible, with the sample well mixed but not centrifuged. The use of fresh morning urine is recommended for optimal nitrite tests, as well as for the valid determination of bilirubin and urobilinogen, since these compounds are unstable when exposed to light. If immediate testing is not possible, the sample should be stored in the refrigerator, but not frozen, and then brought to room temperature before used in the test. Unpreserved urine at room temperature may undergo pH changes due to microbial proliferation, which may interfere with protein determination. If cleanly voided specimens are not collected from females, positive results for leukocytes may be found due to contamination from outside the urinary tract. Skin cleansers containing chlorhexidine may affect protein test results if specimen contamination occurs.Carefully dip the testing strip into the urine sample, ensuring that the urine does NOT go above the MAX LINE. Allow the test to absorb the urine for about 10-15 seconds. You can collect a urine sample at any time of day unless your GP or practice nurse advises you otherwise. If your doctor gives you any other instructions, you should also follow these. What is a mid-stream urine sample? Discoloration or darkening of the test pads may indicate deterioration. If this is evident, or if test results are questionable or inconsistent with expected finding, confirm that the product is within its expiration date and is reacting properly using known negative and positive control materials. Do not use after the expiry date.

If you mix different drugs this can be very dangerous and that includes mixing alcohol with a drug. We also offer a variety of drug tests for the most common drugs. When your kidneys are functioning normally, they filter creatinine and other waste products out of your blood. These waste products are removed from your body through urination. A creatinine urine test measures the amount of creatinine in your urine. After 15 seconds, remove the test from the urine, lay the test strip on a clean flat surface while the test lines develop.Drugs are everywhere around us and most parents worry about their child becoming involved with drugs.
