About this deal

With the same stupendous image quality that made the LG CX so attractive squeezed into a slimmer frame, the LG GX won’t appeal to everyone. That said, once you consider the wall-mount is thrown in for free and the fact that some retailers have been discounting the RRP and throwing in free installation as well – it’s actually not that bad a deal. LG Nano75 4K NanoCell (43, 50, 55, 65-inch): Almost the same as above, but without local dimming or compatibility with the Gallery Stand. UHD LCD TVs LG 2021 UHD TVs We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for two months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. The cheapest TV you’ll be able to buy from LG in 2020 is the UN6900/UN6970 - at least in the US. The UK and Australia will get their own budget UHD TVs with most of the same specs, but there’s likely to be some regional variation as well. In the US, expect these TVs to use Active HDR, the basic version of WebOS and a Quad-Core processor. Unfortunately they only have a native refresh rate of 60Hz and use a basic IPS panel. We changed the subtype from WRGB to WOLED as it's more accurate and more consistent with other TVs.

In our review, we called the C1 one of the best TVs at any price. It’s missing the new OLED evo panels going into the G1 OLED, but even in their absence the C1 produces colorful, bright and rich pictures with support for most types of HDR. There might be one or two areas for improvement, but otherwise the LG C1 OLED is still the gold standard for 2021 OLED TVs. It has pretty much everything you’d expect from a top-flight TV in 2020. You get LG’s superb WebOS front end which supplies silky smooth access to all the major streaming services, including Netflix, Now TV, Prime Video, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Rakuten, Youtube and more. There’s also support for hands-free voice control, and you can request Alexa or Google Assistant’s help, too, if that suits. That’s the cinematic side sorted, but what about those keen to engage in some next-gen gaming? Well, there’s bad news on that front. With no HDMI 2.1 ports, the LG A1 does not support 4K at 120Hz or VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), so those looking to get the most out of their PS5 and/or Xbox Series X will want to look elsewhere (perhaps the LG C1 OLED or Samsung Q80A) for their gaming goodness. Updated to Test Bench 1.7 with an updated HDR Brightness test that better reflects real world usage. We've also split the console compatibility boxes into separate PS5 Compatibility and Xbox Series X|S Compatibility tests. You can see our full changelog here. The LG Nano90 is one step up from the LG Nano85 and the big change is that it uses a full-array panel for better contrast and comes in a larger, 86-inch screen size. Otherwise it has all the same specs and features as the LG Nano85.

Converted to Test Bench 1.10. With this update we've revamped our Gradient testing, added a new test for Low Quality Content Smoothing, and expanded our Audio Passthrough testing. We have to discuss the new TV sizes, of course. LG Display, which supplies LG Electronics with OLED panels, is introducing a new 83-inch OLED panel size, as well as a 42-inch size for those after something smaller. It’s likely we’ll see both sizes for flagship sets like the C Series and G Series, if not the A Series too – and we know that the 48-inch OLED panel introduced last year is going to be more widespread across the LG range. You wouldn’t expect much from internal speakers on a TV this slim, but the GX is something of an outlier. There’s enough clarity and volume to make a surprisingly good fist of movies and TV for everyday use. If you can’t upgrade to a soundbar or proper surround sound setup right away, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And if you do want a matching soundbar, it’s well worth considering LG’s own GX soundbar – its slim, wall-mountable design is a perfect match ( read our full review here). LG QNED85 4K TV (65, 75-inch): This step-down QNED model is also 4K, and matches the QNED90 for specs aside from its 60Hz panel. HDR support includes HDR 10, HLG and Dolby Vision, so you won’t be missing out on any HDR goodness. Notably, the LG sets also feature support for Dolby Vision IQ which dynamically boosts brightness for HDR content depending on the ambient light – a real boon for daytime watching. With those four HDMI 2.1 ports providing all the ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and 4k 120Hz loveliness that a gamer could ask for, the GX is just as desirable as the CX for console-based entertainment. It’s ready and raring for the next-gen consoles to arrive.
