About this deal

The beam has a somewhat distinct hotspot with some slight corona and a fairly wide (rectangular-style) spill, with most of the lumens output focused into the hotspot. It also helps that the LEDs are perfectly centered in this sample. There are some beam artifacts when white wall hunting but not visible in real world usage. It's been awhile since my review of the Nitecore TINI SS, the mini flashlight that is with me on all of my travels and by the side of my bed each night. As you can imagine, the chance for travel is significantly lesser these past few months, so, in some ways, the Nitecore TINI 2 came at a bad time.

TINI2 - NITECORE

For this light, it is a definite YES, if the tint shift and beam profile are not an issue for your usage. Nitecore TINI2 next to the previous TINI. The dimensions are similar despite the numerous updates of the new TINI2.Introducing the upgraded Nitecore TINI 2, the dual OSRAM P8 LEDs give off an impressive 500 lumen output, perfect for daily use for a far-reaching and uniform beam that reaches up to 97 yards. For how powerful the TINI 2 is, Nitecore managed to keep it small and lightweight. Weighing less than 1oz and smaller than a car key, TINI 2 is the perfect edc light on a keychain. In DEMO mode (default) the light turns off automatically, within 30 seconds, if there is no operation. The countdown will be indicated on the multifunction display. Before the TINI 2, there was the original TINI and an SS verion that uses stainless steel. The TINI 2 is an entirely new redesigned version which is much sleeker.

I saw another reviewer say that this is advertised as 500-lumen, but only puts out 200 -- well, evidently he didn't read the user manual on how to activate 500-lumen mode. It really does put out a ton of light.A note about candela readings in general – being 10cm out at 5m can make such a difference; had I measured 72 lux at 5.1m (10cm difference), then I’d be getting 1872cd, almost the same as my 10m reading. At these lux levels and distances, being out even a small amount can change the numbers quite a bit. The Nitecore TINI2 comes from the Nitecore’s T series and is the second generation version of the original Nitecore TINI model. The new TINI 2 is slightly heavier than the original TINI model. It is a bit heavier than one of our car key fobs, but lighter than the other. Nitecore TINI2 alternatives With the torch Off, by pressing the “ MODE” key, the display shows for a few seconds the level and user mode set and the current voltage with the battery drawing. In addition to this it now has two emitters for a higher maximum output of 500 lumens (momentary output) from two OSRAM P8 LEDs, which is an incredible output from the compact body, an OLED screen display and utilises a USB Type-C charging port for easy and fast charging.

Out of the box, the light will come into Demo mode. This mode is the same as Daily mode, but with the difference that the light will only stay on for 30 seconds after the last mode change. Turbo can still be accessed as per Daily mode, but more on that later. what is the self discharge? The manual says that I should recharge it every quarter of keeping it in storage. Sounds very bad. And may explain why they fully charged it in the factory. The OLED display provides information about the current status of the TINI 2 when the light is turned on. It successively shows the brightness level & lumen output, the user mode and the run-time remaining. After the screen goes out it can be reactivated by pressing the mode button. There is also a display demonstration function, but it is for demonstration purposes only and not a reflection of the light status. A bit of up and down here – I’ve measured Low and Medium as above their rated spec, but High and Turbo as below. They’re well within the margin of error, though. The TINI2 does not come with any USB-C cable. Using a XTAR-branded Micro-USB Cable, the battery was charging at ~0.26A.
