About this deal

In 1774 it was said that the Tyne Conservancy Board had allowed the river to be, from ignorance , inattention and avarice, converted into a cursed horsepond. The Tyne didn't have a monopoly of supplying London coal, there were many other coalfields in the country eager to sell their coal there as well.

Sushi, salad, couscous, something called “quinoa”. Are you bored of all the latest lunch fads? Good. Redhouse are too. And they’re here to save your stomachs with their old-school holy trinity of pie, mash and liquor (that’s gravy to all you “pie shop virgins”). But these aren’t just any pies, they’re handmade by award-winning Northumbrian butchers and are served with some of the best craft ales our nation has ever produced. It’s almost enough to make you feel patriotic, almost. By 1592, 91,420 tons of coal were exported from the Tyne, coastwise, in that year and in the following year this increased to over 1000,000 tons.General Manager of Utilita Arena Newcastle, Caroline Ginnane, said: "We are thrilled to be working alongside Monopoly Events to help deliver the biggest ever Comic Con the region has ever seen, right here at Utilita Arena Newcastle. Description Prepare to roll the dice and buy, sell and trade your way to success in Newcastle Monopoly! There were two main constraints to the development of shipbuilding on the Tyne, the Guilds and the River Tyne itself. We will launch at Utilita Arena Newcastle and then we will be moving into a brand new state of the art home at the Sage ICC across the river. We want to build this event into a solid sell out and make this into another one of our flagship Monopoly shows, for all our fans in the North East!

It was therefore decreed that none but freemen of Newcastle and members of the Shipwrights Guild could build ships on the Tyne, and that no vessel should be constructed at Shields, North or South.
