The story is rich with history and magic as one would expect from a Fantasy but they are woven intriguingly. Tapi, dari sisi cerita... Errm..... Pertama, Rudeus sangat mesum. The anime improves the light novel in how it hides most of the internal life of characters other than the protagonist. In the light novel we get some chapters from Paul's (the father) perspective, as well as Zenith's (the mother). Although they illuminate their motivations, I always feel it's stronger if we don't stray from the main character's perspective. It's more immersive that way. However, even in the anime we do get some parts from the maid's perspective, which makes more sense as she's a very introverted, guarded character who doesn't share those insights.

A manga adaptation by Yuka Fujikawa began serialization in the June 2014 issue of Monthly Comic Flapper. Seven Seas Entertainment also licensed the tankōbon volumes of the manga for localization in North America. Rudeus begins searching for a house for his marriage. With Zanoba and Cliff's support, Rudeus investigates a haunted machine and neutralizes an automated doll which killed the past inhabitants. She deduces she and Rudeus are the results of a time paradox in the future, which prevents her from returning home; she then enters stasis to close the time loop. Aisha decides to become Rudeus' maid while Norn enrolls and dorms at Ronoa Magic University. However, being always compared to Rudeus and feeling completely alone, Norn secludes herself in her dorm. Rudeus sneaks into the dorms to see Norn, allowing her to sort out her negative feelings towards him. Months pass, and Sylphy becomes pregnant. Shortly after, Rudeus receives a letter from Paul's group, requesting for his assistance. Upřímně nevím, jestli hlavní postava má být prostě neskutečné hovado odtrhnuté od reality, co na nic jiného nemyslí, a my máme sledovat jeho osobnostní proměnu, nebo je autor jenom frustrovaný nadržený nerd, který si formou literatury plní své pochybné choutky. Minimálně v téhle první knize nebylo po tom prvním ani stopy, jenom hodně velice pochybného „humoru“ a objektifikace žen společně s oplzlostí, za kterou by se ani hospodští posedové nestyděli. Pevně doufám, že je to jenom autorův pokus o to dát hlavní postavě nějaké vady, aby nebyla úplně perfektní. Now as for any negatives, I only have one and thats how the adults don’t treat Rudy like a kid, we all know he is mentally 35 but the characters don’t. So when his father talks about how he chased women, from Rudy’s dad perspective he is telling this stuff to a 6 year old child and thats kind of messed up even if we know mentally Rudy is an adult. Sure, the said ''cool father'' has a redempation arc that happens later in the story but he and the main chracter were BOTH still assholes and I HAD TO ENDURE THESE SHIT CHARACTERS A LOT. Rudeus who started annoying and mostly a perv, grew so much after getting to his new world. He has been truly thinking about what he did wrong before and you can see his will to do better in this second chance, and he almost seems a different person from the one you’re introduced to in the first chapter. That said, I do have to give people an up front warning: this series is a bit perverted and is all but guaranteed to become more perverted as our main character ages up to adulthood. To go into too much detail would kind of give the plot away somewhat (and possibly put me in danger of violation of Goodreads rules), but there is mention here of masturbation, voyeurism, and panty sniffing. None of this is given in any true detail, but it is mentioned. I know that we're all mature, but I also know that some people just don't like reading stuff like that (and possibly don't want very young readers to read this) so I do feel like I should mention this. Rudeus is bought into the Boreas branch of the Greyrat family and becomes a tutor to Eris Boreas Greyrat, an arrogant and violent girl. To become her tutor, Rudeus and the Boreas family arrange a fake kidnapping, which is turned into a real kidnapping when a butler betrays them. Regardless, Rudeus wins her favor and becomes her tutor for mathematics, languages, and magic. Over the years, Rudeus bonds with the Boreas family and teaches himself more about the world, learning several different languages on the side. On his tenth birthday, Eris and the Boreas family presents Rudeus with a magic staff. Shortly after, a magic beam hits the country, transporting people throughout the world. Roxy arrives at the city, and decides to join a search party led by Rudeus' father.

Learning that Rudeus will need two years for his journey, Nanahoshi informs him about a hidden area containing a teleportation circle, which would shorten his overall journey to six months. Together with Elinalise, they are teleported to the Bengaritto Continent, where they traverse a desert of monsters and accompany a band of merchants. Arriving at their destination, they are reunited with Paul's group, and learn that Zenith is inside a legendary dungeon called the Teleport Labyrinth, and that Roxy is missing inside. I do not recommend this light novel/web novel, both the author and its main character Rudeus Grayrat are modest, underachievers, wimps, cowards. #FAIL What will happen in the inevitable, all-out battle to the death?　And what will be the outcome of the long battle with Hitogami? The story of Rudeus is now complete!
