Before getting started with the editor, take a moment to learn about some of the common terms and symbols you may encounter during the editing process. These are common MIDI terms and will be good to know if you're just getting started with your MPK Mini Play and the world of MIDI and audio production: If your main goal for using the editor is to set up the keyboard with MPC Beats, look no further! For most users, simply hold down the Favorites buttonand press Pad 1to select the MPC Beats preset. This will line up the pads in MPC Beats accordingly: As described above, you will need to hold the SHIFT and PROG SELECT buttons while connecting the USB cable to your MPK mini Plus. Continue holding the buttons until the USB cable is completely connected to the MPK mini and your computer, and the MPK mini Plus powers on. Yes, the MPK Mini Plus is a class-compliant, USB-MIDI keyboard. This means that instead of creating sound on its own, it will send MIDI messages to the software on your computer to generate sound and control your music production software.

The inMusic Software Managerwill be saved as an application in your computer's Application or Programs folder. Just open the inMusic Software Manager to access your software and installers at any time! Build quality:- had the first one returned as the drum pads were really not responsive (I had the same problem with the regular mini, also had to return one of that one) As I read on the internet it is a common problem with AKAI minis, that the build consistency of the drum pads are not so great, so are better, some are worse. The replacement that I got is also not the best in terms of responsiveness, but I can live with it.
