Photo: La Dichosa The main focus of this series, other than romance, is the female friendship of the women in the group. This was the case again in this book and it’s something I always enjoy reading about. The county of Devon also plays a big part in the series and as with the other books, the setting is beautifully described. I initially did not realize this was the fourth book in a series, but don't think you had read the first three to be able to enjoy this one. Although, I do think I would have liked it more if I had some of the additional context/character building from the previous books! Some parts of the plot referred to things that I felt out of the loop on, though not soooo out of the loop that I couldn't follow. I loved the epilogue set ten years later which gives the reader an insight into the future of all the characters.Pulpit Commentary Verse 1-ch. 3:2-4.
