About this deal

And I spy a Kaukau Kanohi (Bionicle mask) glyph and an Exo Force robot head glyph. Great to know the graphic designers remember what other themes there were in 2008 too. But it's a bit odd to see them on a movie scene like this. That's the thing with licensed themes, there's this strangely stiffling sensation that accuracy can bring.

The presence of the Nazi fighter pilot in 77012 Fighter Plane Chase could also be considered problematic, so I can understand why the reasons for cancelling 77014 The Temple of Doom are unclear. After all, there are potential criticisms of the other sets as well.

Bonus Level 5 - Princess Rescue

As such, it’s one of the few Lego Indiana Jones sets still sold in the official store. Very much billed as a collectors item for adults, Temple of the Golden Idol comes complete with panels displaying quotes from the movie and the store insists it’s 18+. That’s probably because it’s a fiddly one: despite a relatively compact footprint, this is the biggest Indiana Jones set ever released.

The dinner scene, where non-Thuggee Indians are shown enjoying disgusting "food" consisting of bugs, live eels, and, of course, chilled monkey brains. Easily the segment of the film that has aged the worse, IMO. Naturally more Thuggees come running to see what's happened. As you fight them, one of the freed slaves goes through the crawlspace at the top of the steps on the right and pulls the lever there to raise the 2 square platforms below. You'll use these to reach the exit soon, but there's more to do here first.

Temple of the Crystal Skull

Place the LEGO part on the small, green plate near the edge of the lava pool. Have Indy jump over to the first wooden platform on the right. Face left and use Indy's whip to grab the LEGO part and pull it across the gap toward him. Set it down on the right side of this ledge, then hop over to the next ledge and, again, use the whip to grab the part and pull it across the gap. Repeat this to get the part all the way across to the cave on the right. Carry it around the corner and add it to the broken engine. That said, it’s incredibly disappointing to not have a set from The Temple of Doom, and LEGO Indiana Jones fans will sorely miss Short Round, Willie Scott, Mola Ram and more. It's been 14 years since Lego last released a wave of sets based on the Indiana Jones franchise. But with a new movie imminent – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny– Lego has revitalized the IP, releasing three new sets based on the famous fictional archeologist. Anything’s possible, but I think that particular possibility is less likely than most of the others.

That's his overall philosophy. He's happy to work as a professor (except grading papers lol), not live a high life and use small artifacts to help sell to the museum to fund his 'adventures'. Again he doesn't do it for monetary gain. But to protect these priceless artifacts from people who'll exploit those indigenous cultures. Fight more Thuggees just inside this large, open area. Then move to the right and break up the pile of planks in the round opening next to the broken engine. When the rubble disappears, you'll find a handle. Carry it to the left and snap it onto the green piece on the wall. Then pull the handle to extend a staircase. (Watch out for a Thuggee with a crossbow lurking over here if you didn't get him earlier.) Use of pidgin English by Short Round and pretty much every non-white character shown in the film. One of the few erudite Indians shown in the film is Chatter Lal, who is a bad guy. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom has also been criticised for its portrayal of Indian culture since the film was released. Inspired by television serials of the early twentieth century, the film presents a rather negative caricature of India and one LEGO might choose to avoid altogether. Watch out as the plane fires its stud shooters before landing and chasing Indy through a tunnel where its wings come off. You need to help Indy and Henry escape! 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb – 600 piecesPersonally, my family (mom, uncle, grandparents) and I went to see Temple of Doom, at the theater when I was 13-14ish years old. I loved the film then and I recently watched it about a month ago, enjoying it even more at age 52. This film has amazing set pieces / scenes that should be depicted in LEGO form. But like yours, which I respect, this is just my opinion. Earlier this year, rumours began to emerge that LEGO Indiana Jones would be returning in 2023, comprising four sets numbered between 77012 and 77015. LEGO Indiana Jones The Temple of Doom (7199) is an exciting toy set that is perfect for children who love adventure and building things. In this review, I will be sharing my personal experience with this product and providing my overall thoughts on it. First off, the films were made for the love of those old serials and for pure popcorn matinee movie entertainment. No more, no less. I'm cynical, but if you have moral principles, you shouldn't even present Star Wars...the most loved character has "only" massacred children....now I'm going to be lynched :)

Climb the stairs and fight a few more Thuggees near the cage where the village children are being held. Introducing the fearsome and iconic Mola Ram! This incredible creation brings to life one of the most memorable villains from the Indiana Jones franchise in a unique and collectible LEGO form.

It’s a bit of an ambiguous statement, and all it says that it’s NOT part of the April 2023 release, so who knows if its truly cancelled, or its been delayed. That said, a few copies of 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey did manage to escape factories and end up at retail in 2020, and are now highly prized among collectors. If any samples of 77014 The Temple of Doom find their way into the wild, they’ll likely be even more valuable given the licence attached to them – and what would be their incredibly exclusive minifigures. However, in reference to my post regarding the 'heartwarming' reunion of Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan, it surely stands to reason that no-one would care/find it 'heartwarming', unless people actualy cared about this film. LucasFilm spiking the set because they no longer feel ToD is the best representation of their values, OR Lego spiking the set because of the Kali statue feel like the most likely reasons to me. Why do they even let sets get this far into production, only to decide to cancel them for whatever reason? Remember the City dynamite factory? Or the rescue Technic Osprey?"
