About this deal

In 2010, Neil Barnes reignited the Leftfield name, and went on to release an acclaimed album ( Alternative Light Source) touring the world with the full live band. Neil has also been cementing his reputation as a top-tier DJ and record collector unleashing modern dance floor weapons, selling out venues, headlining festivals and creating some amazing nights with his sets. Revisit Joe Robert's interview with Barnes about cancer, therapy and releasing an album in 2022 from earlier this year. Released in 1995 on CD, cassette and double vinyl. A limited edition triple vinyl version was also released at the same time, containing "Cut for Life" (7:09) (replacing "Song of Life"), "Half Past Dub" (3:38) and a longer version of "Open Up" (8:44). [29] It was re-released in 2017. [30] 2000 double CD re-release [ edit ] The first album in 7 years from seminal electronic music pioneers and twice Mercury Prize Nominated, Leftfield. Currently reaching a new audience through Idris Elba’s Gucci ad, this is their 4th album in their 28 year history. It's a dancefloor album full of big sounds, big songs and a big production. It's Leftfield at their purest. There are several UK/Europe pressings with identical artwork but CD matrices showing manufacturing of different periods:

It was part of a movement and musical revolution that came from a DIY mentality born from the technology available. The album is like part of me that represents my youth and energy of a more innocent and quite different time both socially and musically.
