About this deal

One thing to note is that the charcoal and shea butter-based balm is infused with natural-but-noticeable oat milk and sage scent profile, with hints of bergamot, pink pepper, and cedarwood. While downright delightful, it may be too fragrant for some. One thing to note, though, is that because it’s infused with so many essential oils, it does feel a bit oily. Our tester has oily, acne-prone skin and enjoyed using it, albeit sparingly. She thinks it's best suited for those with normal to dry skin. Ever since testing it, she’s been using it every day as a new go-to (though, she prefers to use it with another cleanser because she prefers a double cleanse to ensure her skin is as clean as possible). Need we say more? Though it could feel a bit more hydrating on dry skin, it's certainly not drying or stripping by any means. The balm melted, emulsified, and transformed into a milky consistency within seconds to cleanse the face and leave it feeling balanced. It's a great option for a wide range of skin tones and the multi-use aspect really adds to the value.

Honestly, when I first saw the balm I was a slightly intimated. Would it be hard to use? Would it really remove all my makeup, even mascara?! Makeup and grime easily melted away, though some waterproof mascara remained and needed a separate eye makeup remover to fully get off. "I've used other cleansers before that do take off the same mascara without fail. However, I would use this balm before those because of how well it [moisturizes]," our tester says.

“They wanted to create ‘luxury-quality’ skincare that was transparent, interesting and accesibles.”

JUNOCO explains:“We make it our mission to create superfood, super-powered, and super clean skincare that helps bring out your own unique glow. Working with the most advanced labs worldwide, our natural ingredients are luxurious biology-centric formulas designed to work with your complexion.” By the end of the day, I can feel it. I’ve grown tired of my makeup just as it’s grown tired of me. From a consistency stance, our tester says that the balm is silky, with a hint of graininess. “I wasn't expecting that, but really appreciated it,” she admits. “It left me feeling cleaner and really helped to get both makeup and sunscreen off my face.'' Another aspect of the consistency that surprised her was the fact that it wasn’t super oily, which is a common feature of cleansing balms. “It didn't leave any kind of residue on my face,” she says. It effectively removes makeup, SPF, and grease, and we loved how seamlessly it transitioned from a balm to an oil to a milky consistency—it made using it foolproof. Because the formula isn’t overly oily, isn’t dry and crumbly, and doesn’t contain exfoliating acids, it’s a great choice regardless of your skin type. It’s effective and soothing, and the formula feels luxurious thanks to the gorgeous texture, but it is quite pricey compared to other similar options on the market, which is why we're naming it our runner-up. It starts to dissolve your makeup right after you start gently massaging the product with circular motions into the skin.

The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: This Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is quite similar to the JUNOCO cleanser; both remove even stubborn makeup with ease and are very affordable. I would recommend both of them, but not as a double-cleanse duo. Cleansing balms can also do double duty and improve the look of your skin: At the 2023 Grammy Awards, makeup artist Kristine Studden used a cleansing balm in creating Maren Morris's Grammy glow. "I love how it leaves the skin clean, soft, and supple without drying," Studden told PEOPLE. It’s infused with artificial fragrance, so it could be potentially irritating for those with sensitive skin. Our tester has a balanced skin type (not too dry, not oily) and it made her skin feel very soft and moisturized. "I could go much longer without a moisturizer compared to other cleansing products that make your skin dry after you use them," she says. To summarise my JUNO Skin Cleansing Balm review, I think the cleansing balm is great! I really love the fresh scent, how easy it is to apply, how the formula turns into an oil, and easily removes all my makeup and SPF.

THANKS

I love to use this just to remove everything from my face after I use the JUNOCO Cleansing Balm (more like a cloth), but I also like to use it in combination with the Cleansing Balm. Both ways are perfect for helping you remove all the residue on your face. Not only do products need to avoid irritating my skin, but they also need to leave my skin better off. That’s the point, right?
