Captain Colossus (voiced by Hector Elizondo) is a legendary brave pirate and former captain of the equally legendary battleship the Mighty Colossus. In the episode " Captain Frost", When Captain Hook gains the power of the North Wind Snowflake he uses the gems power to freeze Mermaid Lagoon allowing the captain to retrieve the treasure and even threaten to freeze Marina and the other two mermaids if they stand in his way. Captain Hook reappears in the spin-off once again as the main antagonist of the Lego Duplo adventures. In the first episode "The Golden Pyramid" Jake and his crew are looking for the treasured pyramid within the Never Land Desert. Unknown to Jake and his mateys Captain Hook and Mr. Smee overhears and gives chase for the pyramid as well.

Each program contains two eleven-minute animated episodes, followed by a live-action song by the Never Land Pirate Band. The singing characters "Bones" and "Sharky" appear in both animated and live-action forms. This is omitted in Season 4, as it is just Jake in different short clips in the end credits.

In the episode " Captain Frost", the Pirate Princess is seen sailing her ship when confronted by Hook and his crew as they attempt to steal her diamonds, unknown to Hook at the time that it was all apart of Jake and his crew's plan, using Hook's greed against him which would lead to Jake and his mateys reclaiming the magical gem, the North Wind Snowflake, that he stole from Captain Frost.
