A giant replica of Planet Earth and an 18-metre whale are coming to Wakefield as part of a three month-long festival to promote climate change action. The Green Future day is the latest free family event to take place in Scunthorpe town centre this summer. Scott McHendry, Principal Teacher of Positive Destinations, Govan High School, said: “We’re really proud to be the first high school in Scotland to host Hope. Her visit has given our pupils the opportunity to learn more about the importance of whales in protecting our planet and made for a fun and interactive session.

Topics will include species in the Gulf of Maine, whale anatomy and adaptations, and conservation.
