Nothing was fighting for a prime time or for my full attention, everything felt spread out and so defined in its own bubble of air. The soundstage was massive…easily on the same level with the Musician Aquarius and approaching dangerously close to the Denafrips Terminator Plus – which so far, was the soundstage king in my book. In this regard, A26 was very impressive, getting clear and defined bass notes that were playful and quite fun at the same time. I use two headphone setups, one in my office and another one in the bedroom – playing tunes before bedtime. I’m testing new stuff mostly in the living room as no matter how good my headphones are, the stereo image, depth and sound staging capabilities are much easier to assess in a well-thought stereo setup. The remote doesn’t have any hidden or special functions relevant to day-to-day use. As a convenience factor to the a26, it only indicates that the DAC is suitable for long-distance setups.
