About this deal

Audio Commentary with Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Nicholas Pileggi, Michael Ballhaus, Frank Vincent, Thelma Schoonmaker, Barbara De Fina, and Henry Hill It seems to have been released a dozen times on DVD and Blu-ray, but in reality it's probably less than half that in various incarnations and permutations. As much as the true events of Henry's life have more than likely been dramatised and glamourised to a certain extent, the essence of this film IMO is that it is still a brilliantly damning portrayal of the characters and lifestyle of mobsters. Film Vault, something that is probably only exacerbated by the fact that this release includes an older 1080 release as well with VC-1 encoded video Gossip has it that Goodfellas, a pseudo-serious, very dark, mob comedy, released in 1990 may be way better than sliced bread.

Goodfellas: 30th Anniversary [4K Ultra HD] [1990] [Region Free]

Made Men: The Goodfellas Legacy– This tells how the movie has inspired some of today’s younger directors, among them: Jon Faverau, Antoine Fuqua, Richard Linklater and Frank Darabont. They tell of how brutally realistic the movie was and how it ushered in a new wave of how to make films. Aside from the compelling storytelling, 'GoodFellas' rewards the viewer with a dramatic depth and richness beyond all the smart dialogue and lively characters. Unlike Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Godfather’ movies which portrayed the mafia families with an air of royalty and stateliness, ‘Goodfellas’ approach is far more down-to-earth. (Compare the Corleone family’s close relationship with the Frank Sinatra-character, who serenades the bride at a grand wedding on their opulent estate, while Hill and his girlfriend “merely” get a front-row seat at a Bobby Vinton performance). Scorsese’s view of the mafia isn’t romanticized to the point where the viewer loses touch with the main characters' carefree world of playing games, entertaining new girlfriends, and spending limitless amounts of money every night. Goodfellas is both a warning and an invitation. It's a cautionary tale that tempts viewers to throw GoodFellas is presented in 4K UHD courtesy of The Film Vault with a 2160p transfer in 1.78:1. If the "reading assignments" I gave you aboveassessment of the film and, perhaps just as importantly, the technical merits of the 4K presentation. After you're done with that, you'd do well to

An example is De Niro's portrayal of Jimmy Conway. His outward persona is that of a calm and reasonable nature. But really he is a paranoid killer who at the drop of a hat would kill even his closest associates for money. I use associates rather than friends, as their relationships are of tolerance rather than kinship. Distrust, hate and jealousy through the forced smiles. The Scorsese masterpiece flaunts its stuff with a strong HEVC H.265 encode in HDR10 made from the same 4K remaster of the original elements used for last year's 25th Anniversary Blu-ray. Although the results don't quite compare to other Ultra HD releases, the presentation showcases several notable improvements though the upgrade is pretty minor and subtle. service since early this year. Warner deferred releasing the film on UHD until triple-layer BD-100s became available, so that the 145-minute feature being curated from both the Warner Brothers Discovery and Universal catalogs, which hopefully will increase the opportunities for appealing choices. Warner Bros has brought Goodfellas to UHD with a great transfer and a decent amount of extras, all of which have been carried over from previous releases, though the accompanying booklet and letter with Scorsese’s signature from the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray is notably absent. A few new things could have been added to spice things up, including the film’s marketing campaign, but as is, this is still a nice Ultra HD upgrade. This new version is something of a landmark for Warner Brothers, because Goodfellas is its first "deep catalog" release in what Michael's concerns about balance and contrast while also probably coming down closer to Randy's overall assessment of the image. I have long stated precisely to comment, often ironically, on the action. The film has no original score; its music is
